“Oh… that’s not so bad. Do you mind waiting that long?”

Ky grimaced. “They won’t let me leave again if I go back… how close is the village? I… don’t want the horse to get hurt.”

Ky nodded. “That makes sense… so I could just tie him up?”

Ky nodded slowly. “But… I can’t bring the horse? Will Stone Mother get him?”

“It’s only two weeks by horse,” Ky pointed out. Though perhaps it’d be longer now that there was so little sunlight.

Ky hesitated, then nodded. Then hesitated again. “…How long will that take?”

“Oh gods no.” She shook her head. “It…” she sighed. “It’s complicated. I just want to go home.”

(Awww) She frowned at him. “I’m running to home. I don’t want to stay at Serpent Keep anymore. I’ve been there months.”

(Oh?) Ky shifted, glancing over her shoulder again. “Nothing. It doesn’t matter.”

She furrowed her brow as well. “He’s being stubborn.”

“… back at Serpent Keep,” she admitted sheepishly, blushing.

Ky nodded. “I’m a Loquitur. I want to see my mother and siblings.”

She nodded, wiping her nose. “I know… I’m very lucky… but I have to stay here because I’m a herald. But my family will be safe… hopefully.”

Ky nodded, then hesitated. “Well…. Kind of. I’m just adopted in… but yeah.”
