i was in such shock that he started shaking me and asking if i was okay and then i went into excited aggression mode and started punching him about how i've been waiting 2 years for this dumb new season so i think i induced some trauma in him now

This morning our neighbor's baby goat got loose from the main herd on our fence line and our dogs chased it. Our dogs are absolutely not violent whatsoever, they're 2 sweet german shepherds and 1 pyrenees, so they're literally herding dogs and they're completely accustomed to our livestock and goats, and we have had no problem keeping them in close quarters. Our pyrenees is still a month away from being a year old, and he tends to be a little less careful with the animals (being young and foolish), but again, he has never hurt any of them. However, the kid gave our dogs chase, and dogs being dogs, chased it, which eventually led to them roughousing the baby. The condition that the kid was in was minor, it simply died of shock because goats are rather dull upstairs.
My dad then didn't tell the neighbor about it, until the neighbor called him and threatened our dogs. My dad was willing to pay full price for the goat, but they were still very angry with us.

The neighbor's wife then texted my father a couple hours later
"Do not discuss this text with [her husband] please...either you kill that dog this very day or I will personally kill it...an animal life for an animal life...it doesn't need a shock collar, it deserves death.
It would be way easier for you to kill it...do the right thing now"
These specific neighbors have a herd of nearly 50 goats and other livestock, and they claim that now that the dogs have killed one (BABY!) goat and tasted its blood, they will come for the rest of their livestock including their cows. Which is simply untrue, our dogs have been eating rabbits and squirrels for a long time on the property, and we even have horses plus goats and they have not come close to killing or hurting any of them.

Again, all of our dogs are completely non-violent, they've been raised around toddlers and I consider them a part of my own family. Our neighbor has threatened to kill any of them she sees (including on our property near their fenceline) and I worry that she might come and kill our male Pyrenees, especially considering the fact that my parents will be honeymooning in a few weeks and no one will be home for a total of two weeks.

Today we locked up our “violent bloodthirsty dogs that need to be subdued” with our female goat who is about a year old, in the same pen with four of our 6-month old puppies— that’s 7 dogs. Against one goat. And she remained untouched.

Though there are obvious legal issues in this matter which they will definitely lose against, if they end up killing my best friend and losing a lawsuit over it, my best friend will still be dead.

At this point I'm willing to take our goat and shoot it in the head on their front porch.
