Collecting Peter Lorre characters like Pokemon this spooky season. Today's double-feature was Black Angel (1946) and Mad Love (1935). Both fantastic in their own ways, but Dr. Gogol needs to get tossed in the compost. Nasty little egg man.

Happy Spooky Month, y'all!!! We made it!!

Trying to claw my way out of the classic movie brainrot pit while also willingly exposing myself to more and more of these films. Last night's was You'll Find Out (1940), which was incredibly corny but also featured Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and Peter Lorre terrorizing a sleepover at a rich lady's house. I could talk about it for hours.

The Vendel brainrot is real so I drew him and Delphine, the woman he's been separated from for sixteen years, when they were younger. Still fighting myself on what time period to put them in for the story, but for now I went with a 1910-1930 vibe.

In my mind my little guy Vendel is jamming to the Piña Colada song, but in this roleplay he's sitting there feeling "Mad World" by Gary Jules to the maximum.

Seventh time watching the Arsenic and Old Lace movie. This is directly following my second time watching my brother performing in the play.
I found out about this show in August. Should I be concerned for myself?

Less expensive but also, don't touch d&d dice without asking. Someone I didn't know well did that to me two weeks ago multiple times in one session. Some people are superstitious about dice, and they take pains to select the ones they like the most. If you're short of a die, ask the DM or just remember to bring them. Or ASK me. Don't just grab them.

The mismatched roleplay is going well; I came out swinging with a solid 1,142 words for my first post, and they responded in kind. There's hope for my little gremlin man. Now if he could just figure out how to have a proper conversation like a dad would do, the pair will get along fine.
Unfortunately he's never had kids and has no idea how to interact with a sheltered 25 year old other than to ask "you okay?" and not pry when given a non-answer in return.

Followup on my post about roleplay forums, this is the vibe of the characters I and my partner have chosen, to give you an idea of how ill-suited to this I am.

We'll see how this person responds, but I'm hoping we can have a very cool roleplay that deliberately explores some of these contrasts in compelling and possibly emotional ways.

The problem I'm running into as I branch out into roleplay forums is that a lot of people are looking for romantic plots between beautiful wispy characters in their 20s and I just want to play a small Hungarian man in his late forties/early fifties with a criminal record and a bad habit of leaving his shopping carts in the parking lot.

It's that time of the semester again
