Just wanted to pop in here and say that Post Office by Bukowski is rich and hilarious. Also, the Pendragon Cycle by Stephen R. Lawhead is impressive.

Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy is pretty dark, though maybe not in the way you might think..it's kind of subtle, but definitely a disturbing book for a first-time reader.

Yeah, it looks entertaining to read. A challenge. I like challeges though, so I'll probably like this.
