Maybe those in the shadows are to afraid to show themselves; who they are and what they think.
Perhaps people won’t care about what is spoken when they discover the speaker.
Or maybe, when they are rejected, at least they can hide their humiliation. Rejection isn't as harsh if it isn't face to face.
