    happy cake day!

  • Greetings.

    It's been a while.

I've mostly been training outside of YWS for the past months. It's been fun. I'm frustrated I couldn't keep up with my schedule here, however. So I made a new topic, harbinger of a new activity.

    Needless Armory ~ Storybook Section

This is my Storybook Section's Needless Armory. Needless Armory, outside of Pujil's context, is a bit of an all-encompassing term referring to a group of characters that I put time and effort creating. Meaning that I'll be using this topic to practice creating characters every day — though I only plan to publish a new one at the end of the week, to make sure I give myself enough time to polish them.
I am a bit of a slow worker.

Ah, yes. Pujil and World Weapon Advent are still my main projects, with the former being a training session to handle the latter. I don't believe I need to say anything more about those, as it's more important that I update their topics whenever I get back into writing things publicly. I'll get used to that eventually. That's why I'm here, after all.

I'll be going, now. Have yourselves a fun time.

    ♠Mory

  • Greetings.

    More topics have been raided.

♠What Young Writers Society means to you?

    ♠Pen Names

♠How did your novels start off?

♠How did you come up with your username?

♠What are your 2020 writing resolutions?

♠What was the best and worst movie you ever saw?

Talking about the beginnings that led to my two current projects was especially fun. It was also a good way to sink back into a writing mood, too. These past days have actually been spent taking care of my room and surviving the heat, so, hopefully, this momentum will carry over to the next week. I did manage to write a bit for Pujil, however. I just don't consider it enough just yet, since I still have a YWS routine to establish.
Too soon to give up, though.

I'll be going, now. Have yourselves a fun time.

    ♠Mory

  • Greetings.

These were all the topics raided in The Lounge:

    ♠Do you have a tattoo?
♠What Do You Wanna Be When You Grow Up?

♠Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
    ♠Who are your role-models?

♠Do you have an internal monologue?
♠What are you listening to at the moment?

♠Do You Listen to Music While You Write?
♠What’s the Best Book Series You’ve Ever Read?

Talking about music in my creative process was especially fun. Revisiting the memories of my uncle wasn't, though. But it was interesting since I usually never talk about the guy, even though he's kind of important.

Anyway. I'll be going, now. A new day's begun, and if I pack things up in my room fast enough, I can get to my writing duties earlier than usual. That would be nice.

    Have yourselves a fun time.

    ♠Mory

  • Greetings.

I'm back home. That means I'll resume my activities.
I also noticed that there seem to be a lot of untouched topics in The Lounge section of YWS. I don't really have any care for them, but part of my training is attempting to slowly get used to generating social interest.

I actually don't mind revealing things about myself, I just don't focus on doing so very much. So, I'll be trying to use weekends to literally just go through topics and randomly say things in them, regardless if they're dead, old or recent. I'll start a bit tonight, then more tomorrow.
Reviews of poems and prose remain my focus, however. Well, that and Pujila. It's not likely to change, so, I hope all that will help and/or inspire eventually. It's fine if it doesn't, though, as it's good training for me anyway.

I'll be going, now. I have music to accompany me while I raid through topics. As usual, have yourselves a fun time.

    Hello, welcome to YWS!

I know I've said hello in your Welcome Mat post, but I figured I'd leave a comment on your wall too.

My name is Perks, and I am one of the global moderators here on the website. If you have any questions, please let me know, or anyone else with either this shade of green or this one. Feel free to ask anyone on staff about the site or various things you have towards what makes YWS so fun.

It's lovely to meet you, and I hope you enjoy it on here. ^^

    STRvArmory
    Greetings.

You did well. That previous welcome of yours was far more automated-looking than this one, which I assume is caused by the fact that there are many newcomers for you to greet every day or week.
    So, no worries.

Greetings, Perks. You know this by now, but call me Mory. Congratulations on recently becoming a Global Moderator. If you have any grievances, social paralysis caused by tiring forced interactions or the likes, feel free to use my wall as a recharging hideout. I'm a decent ear, and a decent distraction.

It's lovely to meet you as well. I hope my future works will be entertaining for you. So far, I'm enjoying myself. So, have yourself a fun time, too.

  • Done with my first blog post. it was pretty fun to write, actually. In it, you'll find an early concept for a first biome: Emerlight Forest. Think Mysterious Bioluminescent Woods, and you've got it.
I'll try to keep this consistent, so, I'll shoot for a weekly format. If life gets in the way, I'll be sure to warn whoever ends up being interested.

Now, then. Time to start fillin' up that armory. Meanwhile, have yourselves a fun time.

  • Greetings.

I'll be absent for a few days because I need to move out of my local city for a medical check-up. Luckily, it's just a check-up. And unrelated to covid, too, which is good. In the meantime, I figured I'd focus on my side writing project's topic instead of my daily attempts at reviewing since I can get back to that as soon as I'm back.

    Here's the topic in question.

As seen above, the project is called The Wonders of Pujil Archipelago. Though I suppose just calling it Pujil is fine. Or WPA, for those who like acronyms. I'll go with Pujil, for the most part. The point is that Pujil is essentially a worldbuilding exercise without a fixed end, so that I can practice creating pockets of world with light amounts of magic, tech and characters to focus on the creation of fictional fauna and flora, then eventually small ecosystems.

Uh, basically I'm trying to create a Crocodile Hunter meets Sir David Attenborough, but with Monster Hunter animals. 'Cept not as freakishly big as the bosses. About as realistic, though. Or well, that's the idea.

Anyway, I'll be going now. As usual, have yourselves a fun time.

  • Hello and welcome to YWS! I'm Mage. Feel free to come to me if you ever have any questions about YWS.

(If I'm ever not on, junior moderators, global moderators and admins definitely would be able to help you out with any questions or concerns you have, and your fellow members would be happy to help as well.)

Before you get settled in, you might want to swing by the rules thread to see what's allowed on the site, and the FAQ thread to figure out how the site works. It explains a lot about the basics of the site, like how to post your works and how to get points. It was really useful to me back when I first joined the site, so hopefully it'll be just as useful for you.

Some fun areas of the site you might want to learn more about are the forums, blogs and storybook section. The forums have fun games, writing activities, and places to talk about whatever writing project you're working on. The blogs aren't used as much as the other sections of the site, but you can post little life updates there. And the storybook section is a place to collaborate on stories - either by co-writing novel-style stories, or by taking part in roleplays.

I hope you enjoy your time on YWS, and feel free to ask me any questions you have about how the site works!

    STRvArmory Greetings.

I'll use a bit of dry humor to say that I was kind of wondering why you weren't here already, as you appear to be, well, everywhere.
No worries, though. I saw your Like. You have a life.

As stated in my first wall post and my introduction post, I've read the rules beforehand, and you (and the rest of the moderators team) have my thanks for making them easy to understand. I like to figure things out by myself, but I don't want to cause trouble, too. So, thank you for this message of yours.

I'll keep exploring the site, now. Have yourself a fantastic time.

Mageheart You're welcome! You're still free to ask me any questions you have about the site. :)

And the reason I hadn't popped onto your wall yet to greet you was that I (usually) welcome new members every morning when I get up. You joined yesterday after I finished welcoming the last new group of members, so I didn't get a chance to welcome you until today. :)

I'll be trying to shoot for one poem and one prose from now on, but I can already tell that it'll be difficult if I do it too late during my day.
While I'm getting used to this rhythm, I'll also start a topic in the Writer's Corner with details for my main project. It's mostly world-building. I won't be writing for it until I'm done writing for the side ones.

Also. I won't be posting wall updates after every review. I think I'd rather do that whenever I get stars. This is the first one, though. Figured I'd mark the occasion.

I'll be going, now. Have yourselves a fun time.

Hey, welcome to YWS! :D If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask! I hope you enjoy!

    STRvArmory Thank you.
I don't have any questions and am planning to figure things out as I go. Rules are fun to read so far.

  • Greetings.

I'll try to keep this concise.

Call me Mory. Or Strength, since that's what STR stands for. You can also go for 428 if you like numbers. I'll be going with Mory most of the time. Didn't have enough space for Armory STR♠428. No worries though.

I'm interested in developing my writing through the various assets I can find everywhere, such as this site. So, I'm here. I'll be trying to focus on a specific project. Smaller ones, too, so that little by little, I can reach the skillset I'm looking for to complete the main one. I also saw and read about the review system, so, I'll be sure to get familiar with other people's writing by leaving some of those.
I don't have any questions and am planning to figure things out as I go. I'm grateful for the rules, they seem easy to understand so far.

Also. I'm not a community person. Taking baby steps to change that. I can talk so long as I'm asked questions, or if I initiate dialogue. I'm just focused on training, for now, so, I'll be distracted by that. I hope you won't take it personally.

I'll be going, now. Have yourselves a good time.
