NEGATIVITY_ So I was thinking again recently, on another writing website that shall remain nameless because I'm not trying to diss that writing website or anything on it, but some of the people on there are unbelievable! I have found some good people on it, but it's nothing like the community here. All people do is spread hateful comments. I mean, people writing their first book get comments like "This book is so horrible, sorry but it's true." and "This book is terrible, please never write another book." It's horrible. And when I left a comment on someone saying all of these things, even though they had posted it a couple months ago, I couldn't let them go by saying all of those nasty things to someone who had told them to please not leave hateful comments. They said "What about lack of dialogue, short exchanges that read like texts and make no sense, lack of grammar and punctuation, all the time skips, lack of being flushed out, no character developement, or character interaction. I mean." So I basically said that they need to stop ranting on people because for all you know she was doing her best and trying to get her ideas out on paper so who are you to judge and criticize someone that you don't even know? So they freaking came back at me! they said "You really need to stop ranting" .....wow. *looks around at all the continued rants that are more than the one comment i left MONTHS ago* Wow, you're right. So much ranting. Woah!" But the thing of it is, It's not just one comment. He or she leaves them on everyone's page, but they themselves never post anything. Seriously?!? Maybe it's just me because I know what it's like to want to get stuff down on paper and it doesn't make any sense, just so that you can read it and understand it, but who is someone that never writes anything to come at writers like that? And yes, I do understand that his/her comment was from a couple months ago, but they have written recent comments that are just as bad. IDK why people feel the need to spread negativity like that? I just feel so bad for that poor girl because she was just trying to share and maybe get some helpful hints on how to get better, not to get bullied for how she wrote something. If you are trying to be helpful, there are nicer ways of putting things than that. I just don't understand. I don't mean to talk trash on here because I really do try to be the nicest person, but seriously? *Rant over

I haven't been on here much, but its nice to be back. I think that taking a break from the internet and online bullies can be refreshing.

HUMANITY_ So I was thinking recently...Evolution kind of sucks. If you think about it, we had these great ancestors that lived off the earth and their wits alone, and now most of us can't even go one day without checking social media or in general being on our phones. We used to treat the Earth with care, be sure to plant things with care and nurture them, but now our oceans are polluted (As is our air), our wildlife is dwindling as a result, and everywhere you look there are a few plastic bags or other kinds of trash. And I'm not even going to mention the other problems with Jobs, homelessness, crime, violence, drugs, etc. And I know I might receive backlash for this, but it's what I think is true. Am I the only one that feels this way?
sylrie Yes, humanity sucks. Yeah, there are a lot of bad people out there. But there are good people out there too, people who care, who switch to clean sources of fuel and encourage others to do so. There are those who go out into the ocean and collect the trash. Our life span has increased dramatically thanks to medical advancements. The majority of the human race doesn't have to worry about starvation, and there are those who dedicate their lives to figuring out ways to make sure nobody does. A long time ago, you'd be lucky to reach the age of thirty. Now, people live long, happy lives.
Whether it's a savage stealing food from another savage, or a coal company CEO stealing money and legislation from other energy sources, there will always be bad people.
Whether it's a mother caring for an infant, or a doctor saving the lives of hundreds, there will always be good people.
It's humanity. And humanity can be lots of things... but there will always be one constant. We try our best. Our best has almost never been good enough, but we still try. After all, amidst all the horrors of Pandora's box was that little glimmer of hope; we just need to grasp it.
