So I re-read some of my poems here and found a poem I did a few years ago that was really, really embarrassing to read. Apparently, I was trying to write about nationalism. And now I’m cringing because I know for a fact that when I wrote it, I wasn’t fond of my country (which is another thing I’m shameful of hahahah)

It’s crazy how you stop being active on YWS for a couple of years, but every time you come back, you still remember the little things like reading this one incredible shape poem when you were just 13. I’m going to college next year, and seeing my old poems feels like a huge nostalgia trip.
This site has been a huge part of my life. Being bullied in 7th grade, I didn’t know what to do. I found this site and I turned my pain and frustration with life into words. I met people who made me learn and grow from their reviews.
I’ll always come back, and whenever I do, I revert back to that innocent little girl who would write poems about her crushes and stories of faraway lands. Thank you, YWS. <3
