Before you get settled in, you might want to swing by the rules thread to see what's allowed on the site, and the FAQ thread to figure out how the site works. It explains a lot about the basics of the site, like how to post your works and how to get points. It was really useful to me back when I first joined the site, so hopefully it'll be just as useful for you!

Some fun areas of the site you might want to learn more about are the forums, blogs and Roleplay Section. The forums have fun games, writing activities, and places to talk about whatever writing project you're working on. The blogs aren't used as much as the other sections of the site, but you can post little life updates there. And the Roleplay Section is a place to collaborate on stories—either by roleplaying or co-writing novel-style stories.

Heyyo, I’m Winter! Welcome to YWS! : D

I’m one of the Junior Moderators on the site— that’s why my username is bright green! I help to run a certain section of the site, the Roleplays tab, but I’m also here to answer any and all questions you have, as well as just help you out and hang out! If you ever have any questions, anyone with a bright green or dark green username should be able to help— those are the global moderators!

I’d suggest hopping over to the Forums tab at the top of your screen, and going into the Welcome Mat! There are some introductions to the site, and it’s a great way to meet other people and begin to make friends with other writers! If you have any questions about the site in general, writing, or just want to talk, my messages are always open! And I’ll say it one more time— welcome to YWS!
