Chapter Three
Pain wasn’t something I had asked for. Torture wasn’t something I asked for either. Pain and torture were simply given to me, as if I was hit by the unlucky stick when I was younger. I didn’t want these things, but they were given to me.
When my family started to disperse, I had nothing else to do, but to take it. I didn’t ask any questions, I didn’t complain and whine; I didn’t cry and ask why every night, I dealt with it. Even though I wanted so bad to runaway and disappear, I didn’t. I started to miss the old me, but I knew the old me was gone forever. I wanted everything to be perfect again, but that never happened.
I was ten years old when my father told me something. My mother wasn’t home, and wouldn’t be home till a few hours later. We were in the kitchen, he was looking through our cabinets for something and I was sitting down watching him.
“Becca, one of my friends is coming over to…hangout. You can’t tell mom. Okay?” My father said to me.
“Who is he?” I asked.
“She is one of my co-workers at work.” He answered, opening a cabinet and grabbing candles and a lighter. He started to walk up the stairs to my parent’s bedroom. I followed.
“What’s her name?” I asked him, wondering what he was doing with the candles.
“Emily.” He said, while placing the candles around the bedroom.
“What am I gonna do when she comes over, Dad?”
“You will stay in your room.”
“Why?”
“Because I said so, no questions asked, Becca.”
The candles were lit now. The light for the bedroom was off and the room glowed brilliantly.
“Dad, can Aaron come over?”
“Yes, but you have to stay in your room.”
“Can you call his mom and ask?”
“Yes.”
Emily came over fifteen minutes later. She looked young. She had beautiful blonde curly hair. She had light brown eyes. A heart shaped face.
“Hello, John.” She said seductively.
I looked at them, giggled, and ran up to my room. I heard footstep up the stairs and go into my parent’s room.
The doorbell rang after a few minutes. I ran down the stairs and opened the front door. I pulled Aaron into the house and he grabbed my hand as we walked up the stairs. I finally looked at Aaron. His dark brown hair was askew. His blue eyes shined. His button nose looked cute on him. He flashed a smile at me. His teeth shined a brilliant white and his teeth were perfect. I smiled and hugged him.
“Be right back.” I said. I walked out of my room and started to walk to the office. I heard laughing from my parent’s bedroom. I ignored it and walked to the office got paper and walked back to my room. I walked over to my desk and took out paint.
“You wanna paint?” I asked Aaron.
“Sure.” He said.
We both got paper, cup of water, and paint. We sat down on the floor of my room painting. I looked at his painting and saw different colors mixed together to make a beautiful sunset. I looked at mine and saw stick figures. I thought his painting was much better than my painting. Aaron’s hand moved swiftly across the paper. He had a gift.
“I love your painting.” I told Aaron.
“Thanks, Becca. It’s for you.” He said, handing the paper to me. I looked at it and traced it with my finger. That’s when we heard a crash.
“You get out of my house, skank!” My mother’s voice echoed through the house.
“Leave her alone, Jessica!” My father’s voice yelled at my mother. I heard the door slam after that. My parent’s voices boomed through the house, arguing. I didn’t know any better as I was running down the stairs to my parents.
“Mom! Mom! Look what Aaron painted for me!”
I looked at my mother and father. My father opened the door and walked out of the house. Suddenly, my mom smacked my face, leaving a mark. She walked away from me without a word. I started to cry and ran upstairs. I didn’t do anything and my mother had hit me for no reason. Aaron looked up at me when I walked into the room.
“What happened to your face?” He asked.
“My mom hit me…you can’t tell your mom! Promise me, Aaron?” I said, crying.
“I promise.” Aaron said, getting up and hugging me. I cried on his shoulder. I felt hurt.
That was the year everything went wrong. That was the year my life went down the drain. That was the year I started to get beat by my mother. That was the year my father started to leave and come back then leave again. That was the year I was alone, and it continued on throughout my life.

I opened my eyes. My eyesight was a blur at first, but then focused. The room was white, and smelled of medicine. There were windows that showed the landscape of the town. There was a bathroom to my left. There was also a door to the hallway of the hospital that was halfway opened. I saw my foot and left arm in casts. I looked over to my right and saw a heart monitor. I looked more and saw Aaron in front of the bed, with his head in his hands.
“Aaron,” I said his name with confusion. His head snapped up. His hair was ruffled. I giggled a little at the sight of him, causing pain to shoot through me. He looked just like he did when we were ten, but more manly.
“You could’ve…” Aaron said.
“Died? Yeah, I know. I’m going to give you a warning, Aaron, don’t save me. I can look out for myself.” I said sternly.
“What if you died?”
“Then, I would’ve died,” I answered, looking him in the eye. He turned his head, breaking our gaze.
“I don’t know what I would do if you died.” He whispered. My stomach fluttered with butterflies. I felt all the heat in my body go to my cheeks. I smiled faintly, trying not to run around the room singing and dancing. I calmed myself down enough to answer him.
“You would’ve moved on.” I said, sadly. Even though what I had said was sad, it was also true. He wouldn’t go on with his life sulking around about me. It was very true and I had to face the facts.
“How could you say something like that?”
“Because it’s true,”
“No, no it’s not. I wouldn’t move on. I don’t even know if I would be able to.”
My stomach fluttered even more, my heart started to beat faster.
“That’s not true…”
“Yes it is.”
I gave him an evil glare, indication for him the shut up.
“You aren’t going back to your mom.”
“I know. I can’t.” I answered, feeling empty inside.

That was amazing. I loved the flashback and you got the innocence of Becca as a ten-year old.
Just look over it and change stuff like "painted" to "painting" when necessary.
It's realistic and now I know why the mother's been beating Becca.

That was one of the best romance stories I've read in a while. I love your characters and you really developed the story nicely. I'm glad I found this this morning. There are only a few minor mistakes that you can probably just look over and correct. Other than that, that was fantastic. Please PM me when you write anything more. Good job!

I liked this chapter. :) I agree with Clup that the flashback was a good show of Rebecca's innocence, which was nice to see. Basically everyone can relate to this relationship; with the best friend turned crush. :) It is a typical story, but you put your own twist on it, and it makes me want to read more! Keep readimg and PM me when you finish the next chapter!
Dont say we're not right for each other. The way I see it, we're not meant for anyone else.

Wow. This is really good. I agree with everyone about the flashback, it shows you how this first started and why her mother and the girl had a fight.
One thing is I don't understand how the mother could have almost killed her daughter, it seemed just like play fighting, not that aggressive.
But I love this story, romances give goosebumps(:
I didn’t know any better and ran downstairs
This is oddly worded. How about, "I didn't know any better when I was running down the stairs to my parents," or something like that.
I opened my eyes. My eyesight was a blur at first, but then focused. The room was white, and smelled of medicine. I saw my foot and left arm in casts. I looked over to my right and saw a heart monitor. I looked more and saw Aaron in front of the bed, with his head in his hands.
I think this needs to be more detailed. What else is in the room? Is there a door, or is it an open room with like a sliding door? I would like to know where she is, cause to me, shes just in a room with tubes and stuff with Aaron, floating in space! lol.

But this story is beast(:
It's ahmazing and i love it(:

‘Ello, pshhxhoney! I have returned to do another review :D hehe

We were in the kitchen, he was looking through our cabinets for something and I saw sitting down watching him.

Don’t you mean “was” instead of “saw”

The doorbell rang. I ran downstairs and opened the door. I pulled Aaron in the house. He grabbed my hand and we walked upstairs. I finally looked at Aaron. His blonde hair was askew. His blue eyes shined. His button nose looked cute on his. He flashed a smile at me. His teeth shined a brilliant white and his teeth were perfect. I smiled and hugged him.

These are awkward sentences. Try reading this paragraph out loud and you’ll see what I mean.

Okay, another good continuation. But I noticed more that you are doing a lot of telling, rather than showing. Instead of saying, bit by bit, exactly what they did, try to slip some description in there. What did her father look like when he walked out? Her mother? Was her mother always violent and abusive? What does the house look like? The kitchen? Ect. Stuff like this really helps the story move along.

Otherwise, keep on writing! :D

Chapter Three

Hey, Krisy! I'm so sorry it took so long to review this chapter. My bad. Well, here I go with my comments...

Pain wasn’t something I had asked for. Torture wasn’t something I asked for either. Pain and torture were simply given to me, as if I was hit by the unlucky stick when I was younger. I didn’t want these things, but they were given to me. When something is given to you, you take it without question. At least that was what I learned.

First off, this is kind of a depressing paragraph. Why can't your MC show her feelings against the pain and torture? How does she feel, besides not wanting them? In my opinion, when something is given to you, you don't have to take it.

When my family started to disperse, I had nothing else to do, but to take it. I didn’t ask any questions, I didn’t complain and whine; I didn’t cry and ask why every night, I dealt with it. Even though I wanted so bad to runaway and disappear, I didn’t.

There. There's the feelings and emotions I was looking for. But add a little more to it. How does she feel when she has to deal with the problems in her life. And why doesn't she just check out of her home?

he was looking through our cabinets for something and I saw sitting down watching him.

Like Ashley pointed out, it's was instead of saw.

“Becca, one of my friends is coming over to…hangout. You can’t tell mom. Okay, Becca?” My father said to me.

Okay, you just said Becca twice. Try not to do that, just take out her name in one of the sentences.

I followed

There's a period missing after followed.
“What am I gonna do when she come over, Daddy?”

Add an s after come.

I heard footstep up the stairs and go into my parent’s room.

This sentence doesn't make sense. I think you're looking for got or went.

His blonde hair was askew.

Take out the E in blonde. It should be Blond.

“I love you painting.” I told Aaron.

This is sentence feels awkward and doesn't make sense. I think that you're looking for...I love that you paint.

“You get out of my house, skank!” MY mother’s voice echoed through the house.

Lower case the y in my.

Krisy,
These are only the mistakes I found. I didn't mean to offend you because I was harsh. You just need more feelings and emotions of the MC about her dysfunctional lifestyle.

Pm me for chapter four.

Hey :) This took me ages, hahahah  I hope it helps you x

Pain wasn’t something I had asked for. Torture wasn’t something I asked for either. Pain and torture were simply given to me, as if I was hit by the unlucky stick when I was younger. I didn’t want these things, but they were given to me. When something is given to you, you take it without question. At least that was what I learned. Okay, as a starting paragraph I think this goes on for a little too long. I don't mean length-wise, I mean idea-wise. You talk about how you didn't want these things for a long time, shorten it a little so that it drags us in, but doesn't bore us

When my family started to disperse, I had nothing else to do, but to take it. I didn’t ask any questions, I didn’t complain and whine; I didn’t cry and ask why every night, I dealt with it. Even though I wanted so bad to runaway and disappear, I didn’t. An improvement upon the last paragraph, well done ;)

“Daddy, can Aaron come over?”

“Yes, but you have to stay in your room.”

“Can you call his mommy and ask?”

“Yes.”

Emily came over fifteen minutes later. She looked young. She had beautiful blonde curly hair. She light brown eyes. A heart shaped face. I love this description. I love the way you make it sound like the way the ten year old was thinking. One thing, if she's ten would she still call her dad daddy? I know I didn't when I was ten.

I looked at them, giggled, and ran up to my room. I heard footstep up the stairs and go into my parent’s room.

You can't just have her suddenly hitting her child for no reason. Give us some insight

“You could’ve…” Aaron said.

“Died? Yeah, I know. I’m going to give you a warning, Aaron, don’t save me. I can look out for myself.” I said sternly.

Okay, I liked some parts of this. But you need to add more imagery to get it better. Your grammar is good, not many mistakes ;), so I'll talk you through it:

Plot
Okay, it was a tad cliched. But a good writer could pull it off. I adore the way Aaron and Becca relate to one another though, and with a bit more imagery and description it could be good.

Characters
Okay; I like the way the characters talked to one another in the first bit, but not so much in the second bit when it leaps forward in time.
Becca - We didn't get enough description. She appears a rather one sided character, although she could become more real in the next chapters. You need to make her a little more rounded.
Aaron Again a tad under developed. Work on that
You also need to work on the mother and father, why did he cheat on her, why did she beat up her daughter? We want more info!

Overall
Yes, it does need some work, but I like parts. Add description, imagery and more information on the characters. I suggest you work a bit on your characters to develop them more. So a list of things to work on:
Imagery - little scraps of magic that make books so fun
Description - your story lacked in this, and it seemed a classic case of telling not showing.
Character Development -get them a tad more rounded and they shall be great
Grammar - You don't really need to work on grammar. In fact it's much better than mine! But a bit of revising wouldn't hurt the best story in the world.
Plot - Add a few more twists

Okay
I've gone on for a long time and probably bored you stiff but I hope I've helped you. You could be an amazing writer with just a little bit of improvement. Stick at it, I'm sure it'll be great. Keep writing :)

This was the best chapter so far.

Extremely good. You were good at making the reader feel your text.In area's like

Contninue please.

I'm confused...didn't Aaron have brown hair and blue eyes, not blond hair and blue eyes? Haha, other then that good story!!! Everyone else helped with the grammer issues so i dont really have anything to say!

I definatly love the flashback, and of course, the protectiveness Aaron shows for Rebecca. He is soooo sweet!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, it is good, but I agree with the other person who said to use more description. You want the reader to FEEL the character's emotion, not just read about it.

Thanks everyone for the reviews! I am deeply glad! I am sorry I haven't written more, but I will. I have to first re read everyones reviews, so I know what has to be fixed. Once I edit I can start writing again. It bugs me when i don't edit and keep on writing. I will PM everyone once I post the next chapter! Thanks everyone! :)

you're very jetty with your sentences. It would make more sense if they flowed together more and made it seem less robotic and more humanly, kind of like the character is having a conversation with the reader since it is in first person.

A couple grammatical errors here and there. really need to take a look at those and maybe re-read through your work a couple times.

Other then that a fairly interesting storyline. very sad when it comes to the parents and the protagonist of the story seems interesting enough. very catchy and keep writing ^^
