Wandering Literary Subspecies Seeks Intellectual Harbor

There, did that get your attention? Well, I'm afraid I haven't anything more interesting than that topic to offer for the moment - though the topic's rather good, isn't it? I don't know what a "Literary Subspecies" is, but I'm quite certain not only that I am one but that I'm pleased to be one.

For the moment, I'm not sure if I want to roost here - it all depends on you, I suppose. The burden shouldn't be too much to bear, I'm rather easy to please. An interesting story, proper grammar and a sense of humor. That's not too much to ask, is it?

Either way, tell me about yourselves, if you would. What kinds of things do you write? Who's your favorite author? If you had to introduce a kleptomaniac bear, a circus reject, or a transdimensional elementary schooler into one of your works, which would you pick? Why?

Hello, Literary Subspecies Specimen Kyprin. And welcome to YWS!

I'm Rach, the frog's Ribbit. I write post-epic fantasy and semi-postapocalyptic multilingual gang war U-Bahn adventures. My favorite authors would be Barrie, Carrol, Dahl, Kafka, Tolkien, Tolstoi, and Twain. And if I had to introduce one of those things, it would probably a circus reject, since a wannabe acrobat in a subway tunnel has a startling range of possibilities.

I turn those same questions back to you out of curiosity, and now pose a few of my own:

1) Who is your favorite character of all time?
2) Where you would take this character to lunch should you ever have the chance to meet?
3) If you could gain a sixth sense, which would you be and why?

I really couldn't resist such a unique and clever welcome title. I'm serious when I say it worked.

It sounds like you're finding yourself around just fine, but don't hesitate to ask questions if you're confused. I was a pretty slow member when I first joined, so no one could possibly ask me a stupid question.

Well! Since you asked so nicely, I tend to write fantasy stories. I've tried my hand in other genres, and in fact, one of my personal favorite novel/la ideas is a historical fiction piece. But if I were to stereotype my writing, it would be fantasy! One of my favorite authors is Donita K. Paul. Her Dragonkeeper Chronicles pretty much stole my breath away mainly because she wrote a story idea I've always wanted to write/read. It was one of those lucky finds!

Introducing you to one of my works? Well... they're all unpolished. So I'd be very careful not to introduce you to any of them! Usually the polished ones are silly or nonsensical written for mere contests. (When I say 'mere,' I mean contests with not that much value to them at all.)

BUT. I don't like talking about me. If I did, I'd be writing in a diary everyday! How about you? I take it you're interested in a variety of genres and styles, but what published works/authors would you recommend? Will you be posting any work of your own, too?
