I stand at the gates.
They shine brighter than the stars in the heavens.
They open before me and I slowly step in, unsure of what will happen.
The bright shining gold of the streets seem too beautiful to step on as they gleam beneath me.
I see mansions everywhere.
Friends, strangers, and long unseen relatives greet me upon my entry.
They refer to me as sister.
We are all dressed in white.
The purest shade of white I've ever seen, as if nothing could ever stain it.
They lead me and show me everything.
I see some laughing joyfully.
Others are dancing in the streets, with the most wondrous glow about their faces.
And finally I see Him.
My eyes fill with tears as I smile.
As He walks everyone around Him falls to their knees in worship.
Until finally it is only He and I who are still standing.
I don't know if I am to fall upon my knees also.
All I can do is look into those joyful eyes of both strength and unconditional love.
He takes my hand and says gently,"Come my child, for I have prepared a place for you. Welcome home."
He begins to walk, but I grab Him suddenly in a big hug.
He's startled for a moment, but hugs me back.
And in His arms I feel as though I'm floating.
As if all the weight of the world is suddenly gone and nothing can harm me anymore.
And I hug Him even tighter as He says, "You are my child, whom I love, and nothing will ever change that."
I am held in the arms of love.
