I'm not entirely sure what to say here, so I guess I'll just list some random things about myself?
1. I've tried to get involved in other writing sites, but I've always been pretty shy, so I'm hoping this time will be different.
2. I've been writing for as long as I can remember.
3. Last fall I got an honorable mention in a local poetry contest.
4. I like being barefoot, painting with my hands, and climbing trees.
5. I can do some mean mourning-dove and owl calls. xD
6. I would love to have some poetry buddies or whatever you want to call it where we could give each other honest feedback and trade advice.
Ah, I guess that's good enough. I'm excited to meet all of you.

It sounds like your username is very appropriate, reading #4 and #5! I also really like your avatar. Butterflies are such amazing creatures -- probably because they can fly. I get jealous.

Anyway! Welcome to YWS. If you're looking for a friendly site on which to write, review, and have fun, then you've come to the right place. It's great to hear that you write poetry -- congratulations on that honourable mention! -- because that's one of the most active sections of the site.

You'll find it's cool to find some buddies to trade reviews with, but you'll also find that everybody reviews everybody elses' work too. And, the more reviews you write, the more stars you can get under your avatar. Plus it makes you better of writing. That's a win-win-win situation.

So the best way to learn about the site is to get out there and explore it. If you get lost or have any questions for us then feel free to send me a PM via the dashboard at the top of the screen, or just post it as a reply in this thread here.

Hi Trees, welcome

First off, good job on the honorable mention, you must be really proud. I've also tried other sites to, but for some reason, I keep on coming back to this one; I think this one is the most open and active.

I also love running around barefoot Especially in soft grassy areas. I use to be able to make legit dog barks (not the 'woof woof' kind) but I'm out of practise now, ha ha.
