This has been done in previous years, the most recent being in 2009. Credit goes to Firestarter for the majority of this post since he started it all back in 2005!

You all, the members of YWS, have the opportunity in nominating your friends and fellow members in for each category according to the past year’s events and history (that is, in the YWS history of 2011). You may nominate only ONE person/piece per category. You do not have to nominate someone for every single category. Send your votes in a PM to Big Brother.

Again, DO NOT post your votes here. This thread is for questions and comments only.

Categories will not be added, but you may suggest new ones for next year.

The categories:

Best Overall Member -- This is the person who can be your favourite member on the site, the one you think does the most for the site, the one who writes the best, the one who you like the most, or a combination of all of these.

Funniest Member -- Pretty self-explanatory! The member who makes you laugh the most.

Most Helpful Member/Friendliest Member -- Who made you feel at home? Who told you how to do something you didn’t understand? Who has always been kind to you? Nominate the person you think is the kindest member.

Spam Master (a.k.a. Most Overly Active Member) -- The person who you think just posts way too much.

Best Reviewer of Prose -- The person you believe gives the most helpful, constructive, and easy-to-understand reviews or critiques for prose (eg. stories).

Best Reviewer of Poetry -- The person you believe gives the most helpful, constructive, and easy-to-understand reviews or critiques for poetry.

Best Poet -- The person whose poetry you enjoy the most.

Best Writer -- The person whose stories and articles you like reading the most.

Best Debater -- The person you believe presents their views, ideas, and opinions in the best way on the discussion boards (or otherwise...)

Best Lyricist -- The person you believe writes the best lyrics.

Best Artist -- The person you believe draws/paints/photographs/creates the best art.

Best Scriptwriter -- The person you believe writes the best scripts.

Best Storybooker -- The person you believe contributes and writes the best in Storybooks.

Best Moderator -- Out of ALL the moderators, who do you think does their job most fairly and competently?

Best Story -- Quite simply, your favourite story or article you have seen on YWS and the author.

Best Poem -- Basically, your favourite poem on YWS and the author please.

Best Storybook -- The storybook you most like(d) being a part of, or the one that is the most entertaining or original.

Best Off-Topic Topic -- Heh, nice name, eh? The best topic on the site that has nothing to do with writing.

Best Club -- In your opinion, the best club in existence on YWS.

Best Blog -- Whose blog do you like visiting the most? Or whose blog makes you think, makes you sad, makes you happy, etc.?

Best Avatar -- Which member’s avatar do you like the best?

Feel free to nominate yourself/your work since no one’s going to know except the judges in Big Brother. Submissions end on Sunday, January 8, 2012. As long as it’s January 8 in Pago Pago, American Samoa (timezone SST), you may send in your votes. Results will be posted as soon as possible.

In our voting PM, should we vote for every category, or can we vote for only a few chosen categories? For example, I only want to vote for the 'Best Reviewer of Prose' and 'Best Reviewer of Poetry',but not the others. Is that allowed?

That's totally allowed! Only do the nominations you want to do.

Lumichu's right! BB said so:

You do not have to nominate someone for every single category.

Ohh, this looks like fun! I want to try it too. But like Skins, I'm confused to who should steal my votes. D:

Pfftt. I don't think you have anything to worry about :P

You may nominate only ONE person/piece per category. You do not have to nominate someone for every single category.

Now, adversely, can you nominate the same person for every category? Or more practically, a person for more than one category? Say two or three?
