*scuffles in and looks around cautiously* OAO Aloooohaaaaaaaa!

Nice to meet you, I'm Saint. I do have another name, but everyone in the world calls me by Saint so we may as well stick with that. I'm a rather non-motivated writer (at the moment, at least...back in my prime I used to be a lot more motivated) that hopes to get some writing mojo back by peering through some of you guys' works. Hope to get along!

:smt039 Hi, there! I'm Sea. :D *throws confetti*
Welcome to YWS! It's a great place to get inspired in your writing. If you want to just write a bunch, you can browse through our storybook forum. It's a fun place to experiment with voices and characters. Just click on the "Storybook RPGs" tab of the black bar to get started. :D

So, what sort of things do you like to write? Poetry or prose? What genre? I'm a prose person myself, although lately I've been getting some ideas for poems, not that I could successfully write them. ;)

Let me know if you ever have any questions. I'm always happy to help. :D I hope to see you around!
Happy writing! :elephant:

'Let's eat Grandma!' or, 'Let's eat, Grandma!' Punctuation saves lives.

Reviews? You know you want one. :)

Hey there! Welcome to YWS!

I'm Pink! -Insert handshake here-

As you might notice, I'm oddly green and different. Don't worry, for I'm not an alien but simply just a mod on the site. Basically, that means if you run into any questions or trouble, then just send one of us green guys a private message and we'll be more than happy to reply back (hopefully with an answer). ^^

So, with that out of the way, how are you?!
I'm glad you've joined the site to get your writing mojo back and hopefully YWS provides everything you need to get back into shape. Browse around and give reviews, I'm sure you'll be hooked on the site soon enough!

We have some pretty simple rules here too. In addition to keeping things family-friendly we do not use chatspeak (slang/ omg/l8ter/etc) and do your best to provide grammatically correct sentences. We are a writing site, after all. :p

Have fun and I hope you stick around!

Hi Saint, I'm C *Hands a cookie*

Welcome to the wonderful site of YWS, formally known as Young Writers Society. :D

Now as Pink and Sea already mentioned, YWS is the best place to get inspired in writing. When a person writes and posts something here, it's reviewed several people giving their opinions on the piece. They point out the mistakes and places that needs improving. So, it gives a chance to better your writing.

Anyone can review something. But be sure to make it an honest helpful one. By the way, doing reviews is one of the ways of getting addicted to the site. You get points for reviewing and once you complete a certain number of reviews, you earn stars. There's also a leader board on the home page of the site where is shows the top 15 users that had written reviews and their positions according to the no. of reviews they've done. Every month, the site chooses a featured member, who had done the highest number of reviews within that month. Pretty cool huh? :D

This site also has a badge system. To earn a badge, you need to be nominated by the other members of this site. You can read about the nominations here

There's also a buddy system in this site. It's a system where a user who had been on the site for a while mentors a new person. The mentor, serves as a general guide around the site and answers any questions the new person has. He or she may also review your work. I can be your buddy if you want. Or you can post on the wall of that the club I linked and someone would take you under their wing.

Now, if you have any questions, please PM me or one of the mods (the green guys ;)) and I / they will answer. Or you can post here and someone would definitely answer any questions you may have.

Alright, I hope you have fun.

Good luck :D

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome. ^^ I already feel really warm and happy being here thanks to you guys, I think I feel inspired to write about a slowly dying tunafish that's contracted some sort of disease from not seeing his beloved angelfish for an extended period of time.

To Sea: Thank you, I'll definitely take a look at the Storybook section. As for the stuff I like to write, I think I'm pretty hopeless at poetry so I don't even dabble anymore unless I get a weird burst of thought. I tend to stick to long-term stories, but I can never find the burst to finish anything off.

To Pink: -gives handshake back- A mod! o u o Nice to meet you. I used to mod on a few RPG sites myself so I know the job isn't easy, thanks for the hard work. I'll definitely keep an eye out for my grammar and spelling then, thanks for the reminder. ^^

To C: Thanks for the warm welcome C. I think I'd like to look around at the site a bit more before entering into any sort of reviewing/writing/buddy system stuff, but it's a really original and nice idea so I may wander by and scuffle about sometime. *w*

I'm off to explore then~
