***Anyone is free to comment, of course, but I need someone with a good artistic bone in their body to give me a proper review on this. And please ignore the background, I don't draw backgrounds EVER (And won't until I get good at it). The little story is just to go with the picture, it is NOT to be critiqued, just the picture :)
If you like, please "like", and comments are most welcome and appreciated!

In the past few days, he was returning her nips to the tail with nips of his own. It was getting harder and harder to satisfy his hunger, and she was wearing thin. He was almost too large to fit into the cave with her...
It was time for him to move on.
As she sat and watched her young juvenile's silhouette recede with the passing seconds, longing enveloped her heart. Just one more lick, one more nuzzle, just one more hunting lesson... But no. He had to move on, and start his own journey now.
She knows it will be easier with her second offspring, but for that to be true, she had to be strong with this first one. So she gazed on, until her sharp eyes could see no more of him, and then took flight to return to her cave, her heart swelling with pride.

This took me FOREVER. But I am glad I finished it :)
I started this piece towards the end of the summer vacation, but when school started I could not finish it. SO last night I hunkered down and worked into the night, and it was done! :D

I used a 2H pencil to draw the lineart, but all shading was done with a mechanical pencil.

Took me about... Forever...lol

Honestly, this is really amazing! You draw wonderfully, and your shading is fantastic! The only thing is that the dragons look a tad too fat. XD In a way, their body, face, and legs look like a dog's. Perhaps if you make them more slender and with longer features, it should looks more like a dragon. Dragons are like lizards, and though they aren't super thin, they should look like it since they would have a longer neck, and an arched stomach. Otherwise, it's really good! But to me. they're half dragon, half dog. XD Try searching some pictures of dragons. Hopefully, this helps!

...Wow, I love your avvie.

Oh, right, picture, right, sorry xD (But, man, your avvie is cute!)

Now, the dragon thats flying:- A dragon is somewhat like a dino, only a little more scarier and they have wings. When dragons fly (Pfft, not only dragons, birds too.) their legs bend inwards, towards the bodies. Your's didn't seem like that. They are dangling, kind of, you see?

Also the face is awkward. Its too wide, and a little short too. There's a gap after the mouth. It makes him look like he's grinning. Grinning dragons <- Not good. :/

The dragon sitting:- Its a she, huh? We'll then, I don't think there should be a "goatee" for her. Her features are very feminist, which is good. I didn't need the story to tell me that. But the "goatee" type of thing got me doubtful, and then I went and read the story (which is also very good, by the way.) Also, maybe you could draw her tail towards us, and not behind her. I think it looks a little awkward the way you've drawn it. Her wings -> Shouldn't they be closed? Her son hasn't vanished into the night(Its hard to say what time it is, so I'm assuming night.) sky yet, and your story says she leaves once she can see no more of him. But they look like they're open since we can see so little of it. Maybe make it cover the part of her body which we can see. Then it will seem closed.

I hope you understood what I said. I loved your details on their bodies. Very good.
You're very talented. Please do more!

@ TheLockedLibrary
Thanks for the comment on my drawing!
And as far as dragons go, they are fantasy creatures, so there are millions of designs. Dragons can look like lions, other animals, be fat, skinny, have only one front and back leg, etc. So those designs are mine lol.

@ Justtrying
Thanks for the review on my dragon!
Also, that was not a goatee XD. Some dragons have hard or soft spikes or scales growing from he bottom of their chin or head, and that is what it is. And her wings are partially closed to cool down, it's just that they go off of the page. And the story is just what is going on, but it isn't night or anything, and it is the part where he is just taking off. If it was a video it would show him receding, but I do not have that kind of talent XD

I reaaaaally love how you gave the dragon on the right a very lionistic appearance. Its really beautiful. THe proportions and scalings are really well done as well. The background is fine. I love how you kept it at a bare minimum, because it allows us to focus more on the dragons and the sky around them. The rocks and cliffs at the bottom of the page are beautiful, REALLY well done with those. My only iff is on the face of the dragon thats flying on the left. You captured such a beautiful animal on the right, and the body of the one on the left is beautiful, but I think the face could have had a bit more time put into it. I realize that since its flying away at an angle that that can be reaaaally difficult, but maybe try to clean that up a bit and make it just as perfect as the one of the right. =] Your shading is fantastic, and I really don't see anything else wrong with it besides the head of the one on the left. This is really well done =]

Hello Shiney!

To be frank, this drawing is amazing!
I'm not much of an artist but people always come asking me 'How is this Lakshmi? How is that Lakshmi?
Hehe. So, I'm much of an expert by judging drawings. xD

Now, what I liked the most of this drawing is the scales of dragon. It is perfect although they look like circles :P
But that is how a dragon's scale looks like :) Anyway, it's lovely!

Image

And the dragon which is sitting in the corner, it's lower mouth which is white.
It looks like it's transparent since it doesn't have a background. I'm not blaming you, but just telling.

The dragon which is flying, looks a little awkward and it isn't as perfect as the one sitting in the corner.
There should have been a little more perfection ^^

That's all and I would give this a 9/10
And.. Well... Sorry to be harsh but the one sitting in the corner kind of looks like a horse from far :S
SORRY! D;

WOW! I have to say, every dragon drawing of yours is absolutely amazing! All of the little scales on each of the two dragons are so perfectly placed and sized.
I read your comments and I understand that you didn't want me to critique the story underneath, only the drawing. So I didn't read it incase I accidently made a little comment about it :)
But I do think it might involve a bit of sadness, I don't know how you did it but you drew the emotion on their faces pretty well.
The shading aswell is amazing!! Evey area you shade is so even, not a flaw in sight!
Love it lots! :)

This is incredible!! I can only imagine how long it took you O_O AMAZING pencil work, it really paid off ;)

I think I've seen another dragon drawing by you. Drawing dragons must be your thing, because I know they are really difficult but you make them look easy :) I pretty much feel like these are life-like and I can see their muscles and everything because of the great shading. The lineart is also perfect.

The first thing I noticed in this was the scales, which are really cool. I just love them.

There really isn't anything bad about this picture, but if you're looking to improve this, here's a few thing i think would look cool.

The flying dragon needs more shading/definition on the wings. You do have lines there, but I don't feel like the show the shape or texture of the wings very well.

The flying dragon's face looks a little smooshed. I can't quite tell what its mouth is doing, or why the nose is turned up like that, or why its eyes are all squinty. It looks like either it is cringing it's face from a putrid smell, or that it just flew face first into a canyon and its face got all wacked up.

The dragon on the right has no pupil, just white eyes. This might be the species you have, but I think you could make it more intense if you put something in there.

I would love to see this colored (whenever I see something like this, I just want to break out GIMP and color it up xP) but that's really up to you. It would look great in black and white as well :D

I hope this helped! This is totally a great piece of art :)

Okay, so I love this. The dragon closest is absolutely gorgeous and I love the detail to the rock shelf. It's very beautiful, with a bit of Asian flair and darkness to it I quite like. The white background actually does pretty good to balance it out, really.

The only fault I see is the dragon in the background is a bit stockier than the other one. Perhaps it is male, or such? -laughs- Maybe I should have read the story. -goes to do so-

Okay, so everything makes sense now. Very good job of showing differing proportions then. I suppose he still looks a bit--squished compared to her, more compact, but if she's thin and female and they're mythical creatures, I can withhold disbelief, ha.

Otherwise, maybe make sure the detail matches up? His scales look slightly blurred. I know he's farther off, but unless the viewpoint eye isn't 20/20 detail at least will look the same all over, not blurred in random patches.

Anyway, I really like this, your art is making me grin as always, and I can't wait to see what you come up with next. :D (Also, your dragons? They pwn mine a little.)
My SPD senses are tingling.

Hey shiny!

The first thing that I noticed (apart from how awesome this drawing is) is that the wing on the flying dragon looks a little awkward. What works for me when I draw dragons (I doodle them constantly x.x) is to have tapering 'fingers' (I am not sure what they are actually called) so they are more slender at the edge of the wing.

To show what I mean, have a look at this bat wing. It has slender fingers, which are slightly wider at the top. I personally find it hard to keep my lines straight when drawing them (you need a steady hand! x_x) but it's what I try and aim for.

The second thing is that your dragons are very muscular. it doesn't worry me with the one sitting down, but the one flying looks like he would have trouble staying aloft. I would suggest slimming him down a little, or if you want to keep the muscular look, giving him larger wings.

I also wonder- what is the white spot on the flying dragon's mouth?

Your sitting pose is just wonderful. The dragon on the right looks so natural- she is just gorgeous. I can't say I would suggest changing her at all. She also looks muscular, but it seems somehow more natural and proportionate than the one flying. I think it might be in her limbs- they are thinner than the one flying, I think.

This is pretty awesome. Keep drawing dragons, you're obviously very good at them.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.
