In the past few days, he was returning her nips to the tail with nips of his own. It was getting harder and harder to satisfy his hunger, and she was wearing thin. He was almost too large to fit into the cave with her...
It was time for him to move on.
As she sat and watched her young juvenile's silhouette recede with the passing seconds, longing enveloped her heart. Just one more lick, one more nuzzle, just one more hunting lesson... But no. He had to move on, and start his own journey now.
She knows it will be easier with her second offspring, but for that to be true, she had to be strong with this first one. So she gazed on, until her sharp eyes could see no more of him, and then took flight to return to her cave, her heart swelling with pride.
This took me FOREVER. But I am glad I finished it
I started this piece towards the end of the summer vacation, but when school started I could not finish it. SO last night I hunkered down and worked into the night, and it was done!
I used a 2H pencil to draw the lineart, but all shading was done with a mechanical pencil.
Took me about... Forever...lol
