Very Very Good!

Oh God, let Scotland live
let my land be free
Oh Lord, may I see her shores
and her high cliffs above the sea

My favorite part!

And the ending was very powerful!

I hear the drums
the sound of power
it rolls down from the sea
my family, my ancestry
May I go to thee

Great job! & Happy Writing!

Hi Matthew!

I love the fact that your opening verse is the same as your closure. It really adds a special touch. I liked this poem, and especially the idea of writing about your homeland. I only have two little things I didn't like.

One was that the flow of the poem as a whole wasn't so good. It was great in some parts and in others I think you lost it a bit. And secondly is that you didn't capitalize every line, but then again you don't have to, it is just one of those things I am very picky about because I like it that way. Apart from that great poem!
