And she’s reaching for a feeling
She can’t see and never knew before,
Getting hurts her habit,
But it’s so much harder to ignore,

Her painful heart beating,
It’s aching and eating,
Away at her soul,
She can’t find her mind
And she’s losing control,
Tears stain her makeup,
Lies line her lips,
The words that escape her,
Are parts of a script.

And she’s reaching for a feeling,
She never knew and can’t ignore,
Her shadow's a mere stranger,
Who is she anymore?

nice rhyming and use of metaphor in this... i really like the phrase, "lies line her lips," thats powerful. its a little weird that you started the poem with the word "and," but i guess that makes unique...

nice work.

The day, which was one of the first of spring, cheered even me by the loveliness of its sunshine and the balminess of the air. I felt emotions of gentleness and pleasure, that had long appeared dead, revive within me. Half surprised by the novelty of these sensations, I allowed myself to be borne away by them, and forgetting my solitude and deformity, dared to be happy.
