Abstract Play

I have come across an art website which talks mainly about things to draw if you ran out of ideas and lacked inspiration. This drawing is basically about using your own imagination and creativity by turning some old broken tools into abstract art. I'd recommend this to any artist who can't find nothing to draw or paint at the moment. It is easy to do, fun and very inspiring.

Here is how to do it:
So the main idea is about gathering some old tools from any drawer, you can collect from 5 to 7 tools. You can even collect broken ones. I have opened several drawers in the house and got a can opener, pizza knife, scissors, screwdriver and many others.
After collecting the tools, use your own creativity and imagination by placing them in a certain way and then draw them on paper. You must not draw the whole shape of the tool, just part of it and intersecting them with the other tools.
Finally, you would colour every part of your drawing with a different colour, and that's the fun part!





I have also tried adding some effects to it using Picnik.

That's a really good drawing. It reminds me of abstract art, was that what you were going for? The first one is quite colorful. I only saw six spots where dark colors are used, the rest are bright colors. That kind of gives it that contrast. I like it! The second picture is really cool. I like the shades of pink!

That was very impressive, you have good colouring skills or was it painted Because for some reason it looked to me like glass painting. And thanx for the advice, I guess I can certainly find good use for it. Usually when you get art tips you just don't know how to use it, or you don't have the apprpriate tools but this is good. Very creative! Keep up your great work!:)

Oooh, these are neat! I think I prefer the bottom one over the top, I know its the same photo, but I thought the editing was really neat. Job well done =]

@ Maimoona: I've used normal pen colors (you know the ones that you will find them with young kids ) It was all drawn on paper.

I like this kind of art. And you've done a great job. This is the first time I've heard of an art like this but I am definitely going to try it out at home. It looks colorful and neat. Your creativity is displayed here
Here's another idea. How about making it on glass with glass paints. Now that will give it a nice effect. Don't you think?
