I kneel and wait in silence
I stare into the people's eyes
Slipping away they give me a smile
Buried alive with their graphic lies
I have forseen all primary colours
The red splattered and the blue infected
The yellow is stained into my heart
The church I know has become infested
The tides have changed again
For I know the distant noises
But I have no faith nor hope
All you can hear are other voices
In the caves cramped and alone
All cats are grey humming my favourite song
The texture coats my skin in the death cell
That one note rings on and on and on
Upon the cave a metamorphisis takes place
I am no longer this or that anymore
It seems I have been forgiven by the angel's touch
I seem more reflective than before
Trusting me through closing years
There's nothing left but hope
Nothing left but that very same fear
Of having to go through another year of pain
Memory lane is rigid and the signs are wrecked
All of the bodies at night are obtained
There is nothing left but that smell
The smell of a victory or a defeat
We can never justify a means to an end
Agony is at it's perilous peak
Listen to me go into the night
The fear is gone but so is the hope
I never pray anymore nor do I praise
The faith that was inherited in my soul
I am so damn alone
There's nothing left but faith
There's nothing left but the silence
The awkward reunions at New Years Eve
The kisses we once shared now fractured
The white lies we told each other in our sleep
Yet Jesus was a symbol for the rest of the world
He died a hero but now I cannot tell
The overbearing sense of hindsight inside my head
I cannot seem to recognise what is ill or what is well
No one lifts their hands at the party at night
No one lifts their eyes and friendships severed
Justified with the emptiest of words
The party just gets better and better!
I went away alone
With nothing left but faith
