G-d's Ways

You, my teacher, tell me to respect every person,
Simply because they are G-d's creations,
And hatred towards another being,
Is hatred towards the "Almighty".
And, that G-d speaks out through His creations.

But how is that so?
Does G-d speak through me?
I thought I had free will on all my actions,
No?

You also tell me,
That everything around me is here to help me succed
In being the absolute best person I could be,
And that I am never given a test I cannot pass,
So there isn't an excuse.

But mistakes are what leads straight to knowledge,
No?

And then you tell me,
I DO have free will, and I do make mistakes,
And all those who do evil chose their own path,
And it was their own desire and reckoning that made them do terrible things,

But how?! Now that! I don't understand -
If you told me just now that G-d speaks out through his servants,
And challenges us through others,
Why do those accomplices get punished?!
For doing their purpose?!

And you answer,
G-d creates situations around each one of us,
That does each of us only justice.

Well then, justice - you say,
I don't see any justice!
Blood-shed and war, and malice
I see,

G-d's every interaction with his creations in good,
You cut in.
Even if it is unrevealed good.

Oh, I can't stand you!
You know what I'm saying - you, too, live,
And laugh at others,
And lie!
Yet you stand there, poised, like a frog,
And tell me things that I want to understand,
But can't.

G-d's ways, you say, cannot be understood,
Not fully,
Through any amount of wisdom or knowledge,
And it is our duty - to walk, simply,
With G-d
And his Ways.

Walk blindly?!
With G-d?!
But what did He ever do to earn my trust?
How can I walk with someone,
Whom I can't see walking along?
Or hear answering back,
When I cry for help?

It is through learning His ways,
That you gain understanding,
You say.
And I start to sob, because,
I don't understand,
And you don't understand,
G-d's Ways.

I read it, and actually thought it was funny. Not that I disrespect it, but rather that it possesses a profound sort of humor that you may not be aware of.

A lot of people struggle with their faith, etc., but the biggest problem is when we try to intellectualize the impossible. The logic behind God is non-existant. There is no logic. The reasons that He tests us and destroys us and builds us up to tear us down, are all up-in-the-air. There is no consolation except that He is eternal, and therefore infinitely wiser than us. His system and Universe are the way they should be, and we are too small to rightly question it.

Grammatically, you were fine. I wasn't necessarily looking for errors, but I'm sure someone less interested in your message will be able to nitpick this.

I don't think that you should blotch out the "o." It's somewhat cheap, and too attention-grabbing. You want to gain an insightful audience, not one that is inspired by blunt cleverness. ;)

I don't often see poems like this, but I liked it. So, I'll like it. :)

This poem explains exactly why I'm agnostic. Lol. There were a few spelling mistakes and everything, but I liked the meaning of the poem. It was a bit ranty and stuff, but some poetry is like that, I guess. Good job, and keep on writing.

This is good, Not only because you've used great structure, rhymes and because it flows smoothly but because you dare write something like this. Faith is tricky and sticky and wick-ed-y and I think there are a whole bunch of people, me included that feels exactely like your narrator(Which might be you, what do I know?) There were, like the RainPainter said some grammatic errors and stuff and sometimes your lines differed a little too much in length but overall I really, really liked this piece. It's honest and straight forward and express the confuse so many of us feel in an innocent but deep way! NICE JOB!

Good Luck & Keep Writing

"Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost

Thanks for the review guys, Formslipper - I actually did notice it's a bit funny and ironic, but blotching out the "o" wasn't my idea of being clever, it was the way I was taught to do it and I thought that undermining that too would be pushing it just a bit too far. LoL, it was kinda my way of saying that I don't disrespect G-d, I'm just trying to get my message through. Thank you Paintingtherain97, I'm glad you could relate to it, and thanks for teaching me a new word - agnostic - no, I did not know what it meant! And thank you Demoness - to tell you the truth I was not so focused on the structure, rhyming, or flow, it was just something that kept building up in me for a long time and I just wrote it down.

A well written poem here! It's quite controversial as you are no doubt aware but I'm not here to judge every which way, regardless of whatever religion I do or not belong to.
The only real issue I had was the removing of the 'o'. I think it's unnessecary and draws away from the actual point of the poem.
I can't say I noticed any grammatical errors, but I'm sure I may have overlooked some in light of the fact I was paying close attention to the message behind the words.
Hope I was of some help. :)

Thank you IcyFlame, as I mentioned earlier I'm not going to change the "o" because I want it that way, and not because I'm being clever, but because I was taught to do it that way, and it makes sence to me - about the only thing that does.
