This is my first time experimenting with backgrounds, and I'm very happy with how it came out :) I used a really awesome pic as a reference, and the final result looks much different than what I based it off of, so I'll say this is an original design. The only thing I'm not satisfied with is the armor. Oh, and the lame title x)

Haha I say you did a great job I was wanted to draw but to be honest I don't know how to get them on here if I ever did. T.T so haha I can't really figure it out. Right now I'm drawing a dream from my story, Violet Saga. It is turning out semi good. Anyways back to yours; Its amazing and I love love love IT. <3 It looks very mystical and I say the armor is my favorite hahaha. Keep up the good work ^^

Hey girl! Yay for more art submissions.

I really like this piece, mostly because I can see that you are improving. Painting an entire background is really tough to do and I think you did an excellent job! The clouds are so beautiful and the mountains look shadowy. I am excited to see you using darker colors, because I love dark art and also because you use dark colors really well. Great piece!

Now for some critiques...
-I think the armor looks good so don't worry about it too much, the only thing that seemed off to me was the spike sloping down from his neck. It looks like his chest should be there and so it gives him the appearance of being sunken in, I know you did this intentionally, and it doesn't look bad, it's just something I noticed
-The left side of his face it missing. Again, I know this is deliberate, but I think having more of the left side would look more anatomically correct. Whatever you think.

I don't really have any big complaints about this, it is moody and well drawn and I'm glad you submitted it! One last question I have is if you use the burn tool when shading? If so I would recommend staying away from that because it creates unnatural colors. If you want I can give you links to tutorials that give specific color schemes for things such as skin and metal.

Anyway, have a great day. :)

Ohh, new work!
Pretty epic! you should do more backgrounds, it looks awesome and really sets the mood. I'm a little lazy today so my review will be lousy.

Plus: Coloring is pretty good, to me at least. The contrast between light and dark really sets the mood. The face is also real details the shading is awesome it gives that perfect 3D computer look. I could totally see this picture is a really cool game although a little more lighting would be good just to draw your eye to it.

Minus: Yes the armor doesn't make sense but you see the problem so there isn't anything i can say about it.

good work!

I think my favorite things for this one would be his hair and the shading. I like the pose a lot - somehow it just really clicks with the title. He's going on to a new world, and looking back a last time at the old one. Very adventurous.

I really like the colors of the rocks, the deep brown is really nice with the sunset, they're both warm colors but they don't blend too much, so you still have the skyline. I think you did a great job with defining his brown hair even though it's the same color as the rocks. I guess you did that with the highlights. I should really try to highlight and shade more in my drawings.

Dang it! I don't have any advice, just praise. I guess you could have blended the sky a bit more, but no... I like it that way. It still reminds me of blurry city lights.

Oh, the sun bothers me a bit. That's one of my pet peeves - when the sun is so ultra large it should fry the earth, but it's widely accepted, so I think it's mostly just me that has a problem.

Anyways, I reeeeeeeeally love this and can't wait to see what you draw next! I've had a drawing block lately, so it might be a while to get some of my stuff here, but I do enjoy looking at your art. It's very inspiring and tells me I should splurge and get a nice tablet. Maybe someday...

This is nicely done! The colors of the background is well made, is that a sunset? If so, then it's well painted. The only problem that I could point out is that the drawing style of the character seems to be very common among other artists' styles. You should try to have your own style with the detail.

The line art is okay, although his torso seems really flat with his back protruding, this seems bad for the character design as it implies that he has bad posture.

The mountains in the background are well-detailed. I like the Silhouette effect on it.

Overall, I think the background does look very vibrant. The only problem that I can give is the character, it needs more improving on the line art and detail
Character - 2.5/5
Background - 4/5

I hope this helps you.

Okay, so my phone is almost dead and my mom has my charger, so this review won't be too long.

Of course, I love it, that's just a given. I like how you decided to branch out a little too and add a stunning background to your already amazing work :D

It's not too dark, so don't worry about that. The only thing that I noticed is that the chest piece of his armor looks like it blends in with the mountains behind him so it seems like half of his chest is missing...

A little suggestion for the background itself would be to add a couple of trees? Even if they're dead trees with no leaves I think that'd be a nice touch and really complete the atmosphere of the drawing. And maybe a few birds flying toward the sun? I dunno, it's just a suggestion :D

So yeah, love the work, you're doing !!GREAT!!
