No Ursula K. Le Guin... =/

There were three Le Guin's that I remember on the list. The Dispossessed, Left Hand of Darkness, and I can't remember what the last one was. It wasn't Earthsea, though.

Some odd ones on that list though. 1632 by Eric Flint is entertaining, but I'd hardly include it on a top 100 list of anything. I also never really considered Animal Farm to be fantasy, or either Flowers for Algernon or 1984 to be science-fiction. There's also nothing by H.P. Lovecraft, and both Narnia and The Hobbit are excluded.

I put in my votes for The Foundation Trilogy, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, 1984, Ringworld, Brave New World, A Canticle for Leibowitz, The Dune Chronicles, The Road, A Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Lord of the Rings. Had to make quite a few tough choices though.

He is so amazing. And so underappreciated.

Also, thanks for the link, ink! Voted for... Lord of the Rings, Silmarillion, Cat's Cradle, Bridge of Birds, Dragonflight, Fionavar Tapestry (although I've heard his others are even better, I haven't read those yet), Uplift Saga, and the Xanth series. Didn't see The Once and Future King until now and am now kicking myself.

Saw many other loves on that list, but choices had to be made. Mourned the absence of The Hobbit, Earthsea, and Katherine Kurtz, am curious about the absence of Harry Potter, and disturbed by the presence of a multitude of mediocre authors and books. I guess that's what happens, though, when it's an Internet nomination.

Of course I've read Kay. I pride myself in my breadth and to leave someone so important off my list would be scandalous.
