View the world through a fractured eye
And we are complete again
Grasp my words to tell the difference
And we are clean again

The answer is apparent and I see it now
Positions of power always end up in tears
Innovation another form of alienation and pain
Everyone I see is fuelled with hopes and fears

I give out flames of eternal dust
I give you the long cold stare

Believe the time is right failures of the modern age
Set forth to the other side to the other lies
Decieve what they tell you about common wealth
For I can't have the right to speak everytime

I should’ve known all along but I can’t sense
What might’ve been and what never ever was
I’ve watched you fall from grace all over again
Now I don't know what the hell to expect anymore

I give out flames of passion and lust
I give you the long cold stare

Kiss your morale and your wellbeing goodbye
How are they still alive while good nature always dies?
I’ve watched you fall from grace so many times
Now I know what to expect from you and your gifts

I give out flames I’m sorry I must
Why do I have to be wrong every time?
I give you the long cold stare

I like the poem, but it doesn't make sense. Why r u staring at someon? I'm just asking. But other than that it was a good poem.

"Kiss your morale and your wellbeing goodbye
How are they still alive while good nature always dies?"

Nice. There were some points where I didn't quite get you. I feel that all you're trying to do is express yourself. Thats good and honestly thats where a real poet lies. Someone else might not understand your poem but you can relate to it and thats the way its meant to be.
You either worship something higher than yourself or end up worshiping yourself

Thank you for your comment shoaib. It is a very personal poem to me- I wrote it for a girl I once knew. However, as time has gone by, she has changed into something she is not. To give her a "long cold stare" is basically saying that I think she knows better than to be something she's not. She used to be so beautiful and I knew her really, really well (she was my girlfriend for a while/ but now I cannot bare to look at her anymore. It is a poem about change.

I liked this poem because it sounded cold-hearted, saddening, hardening, and lonely. (well, that's the why I interpreted it). I enjoyed reading. I didn't see any mistakes. It was well written. good job :) keep writing.

best wishes,
nessa
