I'm flattered. Yes I am.
Let's get down to the nitty gritty, why I'm bothering you good people.
Do real poets call themselves poets? If they don't; I'm a poet. And a damn good one and that's why I'm here... because I'm a damn good poet :smt002 .

Yea... anywayz. How y'all doin?

Hello!

Glad you found YWS— we have a fair chunk of poets here, although I'd hesitate to call myself one as I only dabble in the genre. It can take a bit of work to get known here, but if you're as good as you claim it might not take long. ;)

I hope to see you around the site, and feel free to PM if you need anything!

Hey there.
I'm a poetry-person as well, though I dunno how good I am at it. Good fun, though.

So, kind of stuff do you write? What about? Are you a fan of rhyming schemes, what POV do you like to use?

Hope you like the site. If you need anything or are curious or confused about anything, don't hesitate to throw me a PM.

Same goes for me! Rosey has the dl on this place though, so if you ask me I might end up asking her anyway :P
Hope you're liking everything so far - I've been around for ages and this place is just as addicting as ever.

Welcome to the site! :elephant:
I'm not much one for writing poetry, but I would love to read yours when you post it. Just make sure you do two reviews before you post. :)
If you want some help getting to know the site, you can get a mentor from The Buddy System.
I hope you enjoy the site! If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a PM.
Happy writing!

Welcome to YWS!
I like to pretend I'm a poet but really that's just a little fantasy of mine. There's a a nice big decent chunk of poets in the YWS cake so I'm sure you will feel at home.
I'm doing particularly fine, thanks for asking
If you need help drop me or anyone else a line!

Rosey: I wouldn’t think of hesitating. After all, you do have the down low…unless someone was making a joke at your expense. Heh.

Persephoneia: Erm, I’m intensely farsighted when it comes to my own poetry; to save my life I couldn't tell you exactly what I write or why I write it. My writing is volatile thanks to literacy and how easily I'm influenced stylistically by literature.
I write about ordinary things and people. Rhyming schemes are as nice as the lack thereof, I don’t have a preference. The poem is in control if ya know what I mean, and if ya know what I mean you have my answer regarding POV.
Thank you so much.

Areida: Thanks! I’m kidding about the joke at Rosey’s expense by the way. I don’t want to appear rude or hostile.
I hope I can avoid addiction. If I can’t, I’ll never sleep! :smt087

Ariel: If your parents are poets, I’ll just tell myself they named you after Plath’s collection of poems, Ariel. I can't thank you enough.

Searria: I might need that mentor for reviewing. It could be that anonymity will help me here though. All my experiences before have been face to face and just not good at all. People flip out if you don’t have something good to say to them.

Thank you.

Jennya: A lot of people fancy themselves poets. At least you’re a writer, eh?
Thanks for the welcome.

Also: :elephant: because your site has the weirdest smilies and I can't even begin to come up with a reason to use that one... unless there are Halloween dance parties here.

The elephant is most often used to celebrate somethingorother. It's used a surprising amount. xD We tend to find uses for a lot of smilies. :P

And it wasn't a joke, don't worry. The light green name means I'm a junior moderator on here, so it's a bit mandatory to know what's going on. Anybody with a green name is happy to mentor! (I do review mentoring, too. ;))

And it sounds like you would be quite the interesting poet to follow, with a variety of styles. I rather like experimenting, although lately I've found a more distinct style that seems to creep into most of my poems.

Many thanks BadlyDrawnLightning.

Celebratory elephants. It's a fun idea I guess.
Oh. Ok. Got it.
I settle into consistency every so often. Actually I hoped this place would help me with finding a more permanent style. Changing up so much makes me doubt I have my own style. I'm a little bit worried I imitate and nothing else.
