Spoiler
It's not as long this time, but that's because I didn't think this story would get liked so much! lol I hadn't written a lot of it, so I'm basically just making it up as I go XD
If I go, I have to tell him about Michael or else I’ll feel bad. But I don’t want to tell him about Michael. He’ll feel like he has no chance with me and that isn’t true. Ugh. But if I don’t go, then he’ll think that I’ve changed and that I’m now one of those girls who lead guys on and play hard to get and such.
I looked at Marie who was sound asleep on her bed.
“Oh, Marie. I’m so glad that you have years to go before you encounter a problem like this,” I whispered. I kissed her cheek and stood up.
I’m going to do it. I’m going to walk to his house and we’ll talk and I’ll tell him about Michael. I’ll tell him everything because we are friends and nothing more. We can’t be anything more. I’m imaginary and he’s real.
I continued that mantra in my head until I arrived at Jacob’s doorstep.
I could have just walked through, but I wanted to be polite so I knocked on the door and waited…
After twenty minutes, I decided to look into the window to see if he was even home, which I should have done before I knocked.
So this is why he didn’t hear the knock.
Jacob was tangled up on his couch with a curvy blonde.
I can’t believe that he would invite me over when he knew that she was going to be here! Ugh!
I stomped away and didn’t dare look back.
Once I got back to Marie’s house, I nearly threw myself on the small area of her bed that belonged to me and started to cry.
“Hey, what happened yesterday?” Jake whispered the next day. He had already told the other children what they were going to do that day and everyone was preparing to learn.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“You didn’t come over,” he answered with a confused look on his face.
“I did. And I saw you with that blonde.”
Jake’s eyes went wide.
“Go teach the kids, Mr. Andy,” I told him.
For the entire day, Jake taught the kids as if nothing was wrong in his personal life. But every now and then he would throw a pleading glance my way.
After school, I didn’t bother to turn around when he called out my name.
But Marie wanted me to talk to him for the simple fact that she thought it was cool that her imaginary friend and favorite teacher knew each other.
“Talk to him, Vera. Please?” Marie said. I looked at her and immediately agreed to whatever it was that she wanted. Yes, it was the puppy dog face. I fall for it every time.
“Fine, I will.”
Jake walked up to us and smiled at Marie. She smiled back and then proceeded to act like she was looking for something.
Ugh, he planned this!
“Vera, what you saw at my house…”
“Was nothing we need to talk about. You have a girlfriend and you probably didn’t know how to tell me. I just wish you would’ve told me in a less shocking way,” I interrupted.
“No, it’s not that. It’s just…”
I cut him off with by putting my hand up this time.
“I doesn’t matter. I’m happy that you’re happy. And I’d like you to know that I have a boyfriend back in Imagine and that we love each other.”
Marie had finished looking through her backpack, so I took her hand and we walked away from Jake.
