Greetings folks

Hello there, my name is Liam and I hail from the economically doomed island of Ireland. I'm twenty years old and have been writing here and there for most of my life, but never regularly. I've wanted to write horror my entire life, but somewhere along the line I decided to choose a more "reasonable" career and began studying journalism in the big smoke. A choice that I regret really, as it killed my love of writing. Fiction all the way, man. So a little while ago I said to myself, "forget this, I may as well have a go while I'm still young", which brings me here.

I've been lurking on the site all day and have read some seriously impressive stuff, impressed even more so by the ages of the contributors. My jaw practically hit the keyboard as I read through a short story from a user on this site, who was only fourteen years of age. Couldn't get over that. Who says age matters? If that is the case, I sure hope I haven't wasted my youth.

Anyway, I look forward to reading more and learning more from you guys. I shouldn't think any of my previous material would be suitable for display on the site as even I have trouble stomaching my gore-obsessed horror shorts from years gone by, but I will be here to listen, learn and give feedback where needed. Nice to meet y'all.

Anyway, this site is absolutely amazing. There are loads of awesome people and great writers. Not to mention Nate is really rad.

Hey there, it's funny that you want to move to Ireland because I'd do just about anything to move to the USA haha. Maybe I'm just too used to Ireland, sad how cynical I've become with regards to the country. Anyway thanks for the welcome and I'll be sure to throw reviews all over the place. Reading is good; we like it. Seeing as how you're a horror fan, you might try The Ribbajack by Brian Jacques. He's a master of description. Let's see... I think the old blessing begins, "May the road rise up to meet you." I hope it does here.

As I was reading your post in my head it was all Ireland accent up here in the old noggin. But anyway, glad to have you here on the site with us. I'm sure you'll fit right in. No, I'm pretty positive you will fit in quite fine, actually.

Yeah, when I first discovered YWS and read up on some of the kids posts, I was just as surprised to see how great a lot of the work was for some of these ages. I think I was sold when I read a poem by a twelve year old girl and she carried the voice of someone way mature beyond her age. Like -'Whoa'. Then I joined and now I'm loving it. In fact I think I've improved quite a bit with my writing since joining. It's funny when you get taught a thing or two by a thirteen-year-old, but hey.
