Hey. If posting in this area didn't tip you off, I'm new to the site and looking for a strong writing community to exchange costructive criticism, etc.

Little bit about me: I'm a university student from Canada, studying English and Art History. I love reading and writing, as well as sailing and drawing. I also sing in a little band with some friends. I love historical fiction, fantasy and my favourite books are Harry Potter, The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons and White Oleander by Janet Fitch. I am currently about halfway through writing my second YA novel.

I love making friends so hit me up if you want to chat, work on writing, whatever. :)

Hey there, welcome to the YWS! I think you'll like the site; they're great about giving honest con-crit, and everybody seems pretty easy-going.

Wow, you've already finished a novel? And halfway through a second? *Faints* Very cool. You must be really devoted to your craft. :)

I look forward to seeing you around the site, and if you have any questions or if you'd just like to chat, feel free to drop me a line.

Peace out,
Payne.

Uh, I don't know if I'm devoted exactly, haha. I guess I just get a little hooked once I start a project. Thanks for the welcome!

Hello! I'm Drama, the Llama, Pointe etc.

We are sooo glad to have you on our site, it actually isn't that hard, once you master it, and all of us are like awesome. (Not bragging, but we are. there is no denying it.) It’s a great way to meet other writers and, of course get reviews on your own work, and review others. You would not believe how much I've improved, and I haven't even been here a year!!

Do you need some help though, getting to know the site?

Well, I have a club that'll help you.

Just click that link, and then do you see the little icon underneath my avatar or picture or signature? Click that and fill in the blanks on the chart. Then hit send. We'll get you a mentor, and that person can help you out with getting to know the site!!

Also,
if you go to the homepage, then scroll down, underneath leaderboards, there is a button that says enter our chatroom. There are a bunch of us, and we would LOVE to talk to you!

Hiya to you as well! :)

Welcome to the site, we're happy to have'ya with us. I'm sure you'll like it here - there are so many incredible writers, and many, many great reviewers out there that can help you with getting the criticism you need for your novel-writing, or whatever writing you may have. You can even post drawings here, since you like to draw and all.

If you ever have any questions/concerns, or if you ever need a review (I usually review poetry/prose, but I'd be happy to suggest a good reviewer for whatever of yours needs constructive criticism), feel free to leave me a wall comment, or just shoot me a private message :) Good luck!

Hey Salem! Welcome to YWS!

Art History sounds cool! As does English!

I love historical fiction! It's only for a year now that I've stepped into this wonderful genre. As to the books you mentioned, I haven't heard of any of them besides HP. White Oleander sounds interesting.

Well, feel free to PM me if you have any questions or if you'd like to chat about anything!
Cheers!
