Those are really cool pictures. I love how you edited the last one. I love the color and the type style and the words. I just love it.

Solv, I've been to that exact sort of beach before! No palms, but plenty of pine trees and dry sand. We even had that same little rock wall. :D
Anyways, the first two are sorta nice, but they lack a central subject piece.
In the first, you have a single tree, but it's somewhat off to the side, and the car and motorcycle distract the eyes a little.
In the second, you have both the red roof and the tree kinda framing the empty ocean. I'm sure a small boat would have been perfect right there, because the framing seems kinda wasted on vacant blue space.
Anywhoo, as for the last, I see that you're trying to get that old picture feel, but you'll need to add a lot more things. For one, all the corners should be rounded, and not as sharply as you have it there, blur the edges a little. Also, you could add blemishes and streak marks. Make it a little more sepia and giving a little false color wouldn't be so bad either. To get inspiration or information, Google 'Holga pictures'.
Hope I helped!

Very cool! I can almost feel the breeze in the first one. I love how the bright green of the trees contrasts with the dark trunks. The car and the motorcycle add sort of a nice touch. Though I think I spy a cigarette pack lying in front of the nearest tree.

The second one...makes me want to run away to the Caribbean. But I've always wanted to do that anyway.

The third one looks like it should go on a card of some sort. Very serene. Though I do agree with Jenthura; it would help if all four corners were rounded.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Solvalery,

These are some fairly decent photos. Definitely a lot of potential here, and it's clear you have a good eye for photography. I'm going to give you a brief critique of each photo individually. Hope that's alright!

1) I love the lighting of this one, how everything seems to almost glow. The car, motorcycle, and little red thing (trash?) at the base of the tree throw me off and they detract from the image itself though, but I realize you probably didn't have much choice with them in the shot. It's good that you don't have the tree centered, and from what I can tell your horizon line isn't either, so that's a bonus. Overall, it's a good picture.

2) Something about this one is throwing me off, and I can't quite figure out what. The sky is a bit washed out, but otherwise your lighting is fine. Your angle isn't generic and straight-forward, which is good - though your horizon line is a bit tilted. That's easily fixed though. The photo seems to be lacking a definite focal point, which I think is the one problem I'm having with it. I'm not quite sure where I'm supposed to be looking. At the orange structure, the rocks, the ocean, the trees...? I'm a little bit lost with this one.

3) Probably my favorite out of the three. The text isn't distracting from the photo and isn't hard to read, which I tend to see a lot with text-on-photo images. Your sister is centered - not something I would recommend in the future, but it works well enough with this photo to where it's not a distracting quality. The lighting is wonderful here - I love how soft the colors are. Overall, a good photo.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. And keep taking photos! You definitely have an eye for it.
