There's an introduction forum for new members. I can't remember where you'd find it, but it won't be difficult to so. If you wish for anymore help, please message any members, including myself. We're more than happy to assist new writers.

Hey, King. (: Don't worry about a thing. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand. What specifically did you have any questions about? The basics can be vaguely explained, but if you have any specific questions, I'd be glad to answer them for you. Just PM(private message) me, and I'll hook you up with the low-down.

First thing you should know, is that if you're ever lost or are in need of assistance -besides me- you can look for the guys in green names. They're the sites mods(moderators) and Jmods(junior moderators), and will surely be there to help you out. Also, to post a work, it costs points, which you can earn by reviewing. People will especially love you here if you give honest, thorough, and helpful reviews. (My emphasis on helpful.) xD Mostly 3+ lines will do. Anything below that and it will earn you no points anyway.

Always use good grammar! No chatspeak. (i.e. this writing was da bomb lol IT ROCKED!!) Stuff like that --not that you'd decide to write like that anyway.

But anyway, YWS is a really great writing site. I hope you grow to like it, because as you soon might find out, it can become very addictive. Everyone is really friendly and willing to help each other out when it comes to their work, so I wouldn't be too shy or hesitant about posting anything of yours on here. Good constructive criticism will always go a long way and help you to develop as a writer.

But before I tire your eyes out, I suppose I'll leave you open to asking any questions you have. (:

I think all the basics have been covered. Everyone is extremely kind and helpful here, so I'm sure you won't ever be left in the dark.
In terms of posting work, make sure you give at least two reviews before you post any of your own pieces. This and other rules and basic information can be found at the information desk. There's a button labeled "YWS" right under the sword, and if you hover your cursor over it, there should be a list that comes down. Click on "All Forums," and it should be listed under "Welcome."
Let me know if you ever need anything. If you have questions, want a review, or just want someone to talk to, just shoot me a PM. Have fun!

Welcome to YWS. It's like heaven for writers and it grows on you real quick. I think that most of the basics have already been explained by SmylinG. Also, you'll find it pretty easy to navigate around the site soon, if you do a little exploring. It also doesn't take long to be fully accquainted with the site and the rules and anything else you need to know. Everyone around here is also really friendly and is more than willing to help you if you need any help. Especially the ones in green.

Well, Smyl is a very helpful person, apparently, because she did a good job with covering pretty much everything. Except for a few things, of course.

If you want to request a review on a piece of work, then we have a nice, shiny Will Review for Food thread. (More commonly known as WRFF threads. Also, that's a link... Yeah, you probably figured that out already.) People usually prefer it when you post requests on that to running to the chat room and screaming about wanting reviews, or posting on random walls. (Not that you would ever do that. Just saying.)

I actually have a question for you, if you feel like answering it.

What's your favorite genre as far as writing goes? (Mine is Fantasy, personally.)
