A few little rules that you might want to know: 1. No chatspeak. We strive for good grammar. And try to keep your fonts black unless you really need to use another colour. That colour rule isn't strict, but it will make us all happy.
2. Rate your works accordingly. Just to be safe, you know?
3. Try to review as much as you post (or at least try to review often.) to keep your points up. I'll give you a little welcome donation, cuz I'm cool.
4. Be nice. Well, that's a given. You seem awesome.

So, you want to write a novel? You came to the right place . You can try asking for advice in the chatrooms or any of the discussion forums. There are also clubs to help you, too.
My advice is to just start writing; even without a defined plot. As you start out, ideas will come to you. After a few pages, you'll probably have some of a plot in your head.

Post it as you go! You'll be sure to get lots of helpful reviews- especially if you give them in return.

I don't know where to start though. I have the characters but I can't think of a suitable storyline. I want to aim the book for teenagers and young adults. It's sort of based on a true story but with a few twists. I just can't think of how I want it to be. Eg. Have the main character narrating it, or have it in 3rd person.

Any advice?

Firstly I have to say you'll get more help if you put that somewhere else, but I don't know where for this site.

As to the question, I see you've picked an age group, that's a good start. You say you have characters, that's good, but I can't help you without more information. What genre is it? And What (other than characters) do you have so far?

Alright! I'm Kagi and I guess I figured I should do the nice neighbourly thing and say hey.

Welcome to Young writers Society or as we call it-YWS.
It's a pretty crazy site but you know, it's one of the best. If you need any help or you're slightly confused just pop a note on my profile, by clicking on my name, and I'll do my best to help you out! I was new here too not so long ago and sometimes it takes a while to get to know your way around here.
So some pointers that'll help you get started;
- Following peoplen is like adding them as your friends.
- When you make a review on stories or poetry or anything you earn points.
-Points is like money.
-You use points to post your on work, when you run out of points~You can't post anymore until you earn some more.
- You can post storeis,poetry,art,scripts,lyrics,articles,movie reviews and so much more here! Post anything you're good at-video's of you singing or anything really! YWS is a great site in that way.
- You can sedn private messages to people by pressing PM ME.
- Entering contests are a good way of getting to know people.

So that's the main stuff really.
