Watercolor and Ink

Here's some more artwork (since it was suggested I post more...) instead of new chapters that I really should be writing. -___-' Gah. Failure. Order again from oldest to newest.

This started as just a sketch, trying to get an idea that had been buzzing around in my head down on paper. And yes, this is creepy. But that's why you love me, right?

Picture for a friend. She wanted a little doodle of her eating Thai food...so I drew noodles. :3 Yay for oddly sized paper and crappy scanning! And for this, I did do the sketch in blue colored pencil before I did the inking, so ignore the spots where that shows through. -___-'

This puppy was requested by another friend. We'd just gone to see Sucker-Punch (which I do not own!...dislcaimer), and she wanted a painting. I did a few rough sketches, but every time I tried to start on the final piece, I'd screw up. This was a total random act of Bunny. I sat down with only the center girl (Babydoll) sketched out and a circle to go off of behind her head....then freehanded the rest in ink. Turned out pretty well, in my opinion.

Another random act. My cousins were over the other day, and I just really wanted to paint with my inks. So, I asked one of my cousins what I should do, and she was like, "Uh, a flower?" So BAM! I painted the flower first, but I still had a lot of blank space, so I filled it in with the face. And then I added watercolor to it. And scanned it. And now here we are.
(Why is it that the stuff I do in one sitting ends up being better than the things I work on for days at a time? Why life, why?)

I know how you feel, Alphabunny. Most of my best artwork turns out to disliked, and some of my one-sitting stuff is loved. it's weird.
Anyways, Ink and watercolor, that's exactly what I'm doing now! What brand of ink do you use? And your watercolors?

1. There's not much to nitpick, but I will point out that the water seems to have blurred the ink in the lower right corner. Also the ink lines stand out far too much. Maybe if you outlined the face with ink they'd be better. Also, kudos on the magnificent hair texture! However, the shape of the hair itself seems rather lifeless.

2. What sort of ink pen are you using? It worked really nicely for hair in this one! Also, THAI FOOD! I'm pretty sure I know the name of what she's eating.

3. Did you use a reference photo, or were you working from complete memory? Anyways, I can definitely tell the difference between the girl and the freehand background. The sword coming out is kinda cool, but it kinda took me a while to get it.

4. Sorry for being blunt, but...is she supposed to be ugly? Sorry! But she's not smiling, and the nose is a weird shape. If you'd given her the profile that Babydoll had in the picture before, I'm sure it would have been a very beautiful picture.

Anyways, my favorite would have to be second one. Not sure why, though.

This stuff is really good! It looks like a professional, or at least amazing amateur, made them. The thai-eating-girl cartoon captures so much personality and character, I wish someone would draw ME eating thai food. D:

The last one is my favorite simply because I think it demonstrates some extraordinary skill and precision that just looks so well angled and formed

The first one is by far my favorite. I would buy that off you. Seriously. Your style is flawless and so unique. I haven't run into artwork I was this stoked about in such a long time. The water color is beautiful. There's nothing I can really pick at because I love these pieces just the way they are. Really great work.
