About two months ago, I lived in Baltimore, Maryland. Now, I live in a city that just became the fourth largest city in South Dakota- Brookings. Moving from an extremely urbanized city into a city that is in the middle of nowhere, I assumed that my life would change drastically. I was right, but it didn’t change the way I expected it to.
My name is Eleni. No, don’t call me that. I go by Lena; it’s easier to pronounce. I’ve had about three people pronounce my real name right the first time, so I started going by that.
My interests include writing, revising, rewriting, and reading. And running, when I can be pried away from the paper.
This is my story.
I managed to get through the last month of summer all right, surfing the Internet on my laptop outside in the shade of one of the few large cottonwoods in our backyard. For this time of the year, my mom said the weather was gorgeous, and it was. I slowly began to feel more comfortable with my surroundings.
I was completely unprepared for what would happen two weeks later.

Poor thing, had to move to Brookings. The horror! ;)
Lena should be on our website, with all the revising she does.
My one complaint (one, Mell, don't hyperventilate, it's gonna be great, I can tell!) was she goes back and forth from this is who I am and what I like, to guess what super exciting thing happened to me, to these are my interests again. Clump the suspense building stuff together after introducing us to Lena.
Now I go on to chapter one!

This is really good, It makes me feel as if i'm listening to a real person speak. I know it can sometimes be difficult to write such a personal narative, yet this feels flawless, Props for that!

The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices; to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill, and suspicions can destroy. A thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own.
