Comickers and Cartoonists

Hello, I'm The Walkin Dude (Zac, to those who who don't know) and lately I've rediscovered my love for comics and cartoons. I've been reading multiple web comics, newsprint, comic strips, manga, and Punisher comics lately, and a friend and I got together and thought that this would be something we could do. Both of us want to become better writers and artists, and we both love comics. What could cover both better than to work on a comic series?

Well, anyways, this is not solely to talk about the idea my friend and I had to make a comic, but rather if there were any other wannabe cartoonists, or even maybe more experienced cartoonists or comickers.

Oh, and before I forget, I thought it might be a fun idea to post two cartoons I've drawn so far (one's been inked, the other has not and will not do to the pencil shading and sketching I did).

This is my character Buzz acting as the character "The Punisher" from Marvel comics. Seeing this makes me really wish my scanner wasn't so crappy.

Now, this was actually an attempt at a political comic I made. As you can probably tell, I'm not the biggest fan of consumerist America. But, oh well. The picture itself is not anything impressive, I know. I don't have any proper inking tools, so I just had to use an ink pen that had a more flowable ink than a ballpoint.

If you do not do cartoons, but have an idea for one, me and my partner in crime are all ears! We'd be more than happy to get more ideas on things to draw. We plan on posting all our comics on here for a while until 1.) we get a comicking compatible site and 2.) I get better art supplies.

But, everything else aside, tell me what y'all think!

The second one, I'm lovin' it ! (In the tone of McDonald's yes!) But the bottom bun could be rounder and maybe a little thicker. I like the first one but I don't know what he's doing. His hand could use some more detailing and some shadowing would also be good.

Nice work, but I really think you're missing out on the potentials of the ink pen. You see, the ink pen is a special tool, built so that one can obtain varying widths with the lines. As I can see with that burger, you have very uniform lines and some thick black areas. Not good.
Next time you use your pen, try varying your pressure to create a line that is thick at one end and thin at the other. Buying expensive ink or a better nib really makes a difference. I suggest Sheaffer.
Also, as you did with the 'g' in 'right' try to make your lines smoother and more confident. The ones that make of up the lines of the burger are choppy and, quite frankly, ugly.
Anyways, other than that; I didn't understand your political statement, but that's probably because I'm not American. ^U^
