Input on all this is greatly appreciated. Also, please let me know ASAP if you plan to record your poem for the Poetry Slam.

As most know by now, YWS turns 1 on November 14th. But since that day is a Monday, all birthday festivities will be held the day before (November 13th), which, thanks to the Gregorian Calendar, is a Sunday.

So on that Sunday, I'm introducing some new things such as:

- GAMES: Not just one or two; there'll be about twenty to thirty games added along with a fortune teller and a lottery. But, to play the games, you'll need points, which you can only get in the literary forums.

- New Forums: There'll be historical fiction, research forums, and many more. Subforums will also be introduced; this means that under something like the Science Fiction forum, you'll see a link to the Discussion of Sci-Fi Literature forum.

Also, there'll be some festivities going on...

- Chat Room Event: Meet other users from 6 pm to 8 pm GMT.

- All day Scavenger Hunt: Gotta look everywhere around the site to find specific items or words. The winner will get a journal of their choice (or any other item of equal or lesser value) from the YWS Store.

And finally, the first ever online POETRY SLAM

A poetry slam is where poets read their works and then are graded on by an audience based not only on the content but performance as well. To participate in the YWS poetry slam, follow these steps:

1. Record your reading using a recording program on your computer.

2. Convert your recording into .mp3 format. If you don't have the software to do this, then download winLame from http://winlame.sourceforge.net/. The software is free and easy to use. Plus, it comes with no spyware or trojans.

3. Send the mp3 file to Nate at nathan.caldwell@gmail.com. As long as the file is under 10mb in size, there should be no problem. Though, if you have dial-up, it may take a while to send.

If you have a problem, talk to Nate.

Now, if you want to be part of the audience, you just need to download iPodder (or any other podcasting service, but iPodder is free and great) at http://ipodder.sourceforge.net/index.php. Info about the poetry slam will be given a few days before. The poetry slam will take place at 8 pm GMT. Go to the chatroom to join the audience, and get iPodder to listen in.

Your Sunday will be other people's Monday.
Cause i'm a one man,
I'm a one man,
I'm a one man,
I'm a one man revolution.

wow....FUN!
"Sometimes we see a cloud that's dragonish,
A vapour sometimes like a bear or lion,
A towered citadel, a pendant rock,
A forked mountain, or blue promontory,
With trees upon't that nod unto the world,And mock our eyes with air.."
