Hello everyone! My name is Kayde. I am a seventeen year old junior in high school. I have not been writing for very long, but ever since I started, I have been in love with it. The majority of my writing is letters, but I also write poetry, short stories, and I am currently working on a novel. My favorite topic to write about it my first boyfriend, Ethan. I met him when I was fourteen years old (he was sixteen). We dated for two years and went through a lot together. After we had been dating for a year, he moved away. We still kept in contact with each other and he visited me as often as he could. Five months ago, in September, we had a very ugly breakup. Writing letters to him is what helped me through it all. Since I am a new writer, I am very unsure if anything I write is any good. I have received a few compliments on my writing, but I am afraid they are all bias. I am excited to hear what you all have to say about my work. Thank you for taking your time to read my introduction.
-Kayde

Hey Kayde,
I've played around with the thought of writing letters as a story, but it doesn't turn out that well for me. I had the same thought about people complimenting my writing, but I wouldn't let people read much of my stuff before I joined this website. It's kind of funny what will get you to start writing. I'm a novel writer too, though I've been playing around with short stories. I don't know much about writing poetry, so I don't write it.
Welcome. I hope this site does as much for you as it has for me,

Hi Kayde! I have tried to write a story with letters before! I quit at about a thousand words. I can't remember exactly why. I think it was hard to convey things like feelings. But, I hope it works well for you. I can't wait to read your work just because of this reason.

I have been in relationships where people moved, though I was the person. It was really tough and though I am still close the the person, we don't talk nearly as much, and I can't really tell them anything. I guess we might have grown apart anyway, but even now when we get to see each-other a lot more there are things I would never tell them and a lot of awkward silences.

I totally agree with you about the biased comments thing. People on YWS are truthful and helpful all in one. Which is awesome. If you need a review or just want to talk P. M. me!

I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do,

A. S.

Hey Kayde! Welcome to YWS!

Writing letters in story form sounds like it could be quite interesting. I've never tried it personally, but I think it could turn out well. :]

As for relationships, I had one rather like that. Except I was the one who moved away - across the country. He and I broke up almost a year ago and we haven't talked since. :/

I hope you really enjoy YWS!

Grasped by the throat, grasped by the throat. That's how I feel about love. That it's not worth it.
