Where To Begin? or To End? ...thought provoked I assume.

Hello My Dear Friends,

I guess you guys can call me Mikie (yes, I the 'ie' is intentional, adds a bit of liveliness I think) because ever since I was a child I've wanted to announce my nickname as such. It's about time that I finally came around with an appropriate setting to use it!

I'm sure like most of you, I myself am an inspired author. I've currently got a novel in the midst of thought processing, so no work as of yet to share, but very soon...very soon, I promise. Finding time while working almost full time and chasing your dreams is quite difficult, but nevertheless...

My writing style tends to be very unique and broad, but at the same time not so unique that my style doesn't fit into a category/genre. I love sharing my creativity with mainly a fantasy backdrop and or a medieval setting. Both together, I might add, are quite amazing. Thus, from these stories a few legends have been born.

An author I admire might include: Stephen R. Donaldson, as he was the first of a many to actually bring me into the joy of reading. A superior outlit by far comparison! His series of books range from Science Fiction to Fiction and to Fantasy. One of my favorite novels, actually series, is one of his: The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant.

I also like:
-some Harry Potter
-Lord of the Rings
-and the occasional classic like Don Quixote

My favorites are as follows:
Color - Green
Animal - Giraffe/Sloth (and yes I have a giraffe stuffed animal named Geofferie)
Food - Chinese/Itallian (including sushi)
Sport - Fencing
Hobbies - Art, Religion, Drawing, Reading, Excercise, etc.

Too much to name really, but I hope for all of you this was a decent introduction. I'm glad I'll be able to call this "A Writer's Home!" Hopefully, in return of thinking it, my intentions will not be short lived! Which I'm pretty sure will never happen. (Already liking the coziness of it)

Hi again, Mikie

Ahh, fantasy! That's my real love, but to be perfectly honest, prose is not my strong suit. You would not believe how many fantasy/sci-fi novels I've started only to trash in a huff. I'm just not patient enough, as much as I'd like to be.
I've actually never heard of Stephen R Donaldson, which is a bit odd, considering how much I read, especially those three genres. I'll definitely have to check him out. I, of course, HAVE read those other three you mentioned, several times each. (I'm a re-reader. Blasphemous for some, but delicious for me.)

You do fencing?! That's awesome-- I actually started a couple of months ago, but had to drop it because it was in another language and I just wasn't cut out for it. I was hoping it would help me improve, but it just turned out to be impossible.
In your hobbies, are you religious or do you enjoy studying religions?



Anyways- I really hope you like the site. It's a great place to get feedback, and I'm sure that your fellow prose writers will be ecstatic to get another novelist.

Hey there Mikie! A pleasure to meet you and I must say, I like the ie. If I had a name that worked nicely with the ie, then I would use it but, alas, my own doesn't lend itself quite so readily. My younger sister does sometimes calls me Heathy (which ends up sounding like Heavy) but I don't know how much the ie would help there...

I looove the mix of fantasy and medieval, or most periods of history really. Or science fiction mixed with historical, that's always fun. My older sister and I started work on a novel that involved time travelling to the great events of the planet Earth (starting with the Great Fire of London) which I'd like to take another shot at some time.

But anyhow, I think your writing will be nicely up my street so feel free to send me a PM if you're ever in the market for a reviewer.

And if you get at all confused around the site or just want to chatter randomly, feel free to get in touch I'm sure we could always discuss the fact that I own a book by Donaldson but haven't got around to reading it yet xD
