Special Note from the Editor:
In 2010, there were 547,826 individual visits to the Young Writers Society. Seventy percent of these visits came from the Americas, 16% from Europe, 7.4% from Oceania, 5.6% from Asia, and 1% from Africa. Of the top 10 cities, three were in the UK (London #1, Manchester #7 , and Bristol #9), three were in Australia (Sydney #2, Melbourne #4, and Brisbane #5), two were in New Zealand (Auckland #3 and Christchurch #6), and two were in the USA (New York #8 and Los Angeles #10).
These numbers, though, do not begin to convey the sheer amount of diversity on the Young Writers Society. Our members celebrate this time of year in a number of ways: Eid al-Adha (in mid-November), Hannukah (in early December), Christmas, the Winter Solstice, Yule, Kwanzaa, and other holidays. Some mark the occasion nominally, some attend services, and all spend time with their friends and family.
Yet, however you choose to celebrate this time of year, may the year ahead be one of joy and thanksgiving for you, your friends, and your family.
