So I posted a painting I did of Jack Sparrow in this topic first (which explains the first reviews) but then I decided it was embarrasingly bad, so I deleted it :)

Now I'm using this topic for some art and photos I have done more recently :D

Enjoy!

1-THE LOST KING
I really like this picture, but I could be better with a better camera.

/Isha:/= To be honest, we are talking about mostly nothing which in its own essence is something. But somethingness can't be nothing if there isn't nothing in the first place. So really, we're talking about meaningly somethingness that's technically caused by nothingness.

Aww, you don't suck at art!

I actually quite like that picture. Compared to professional artists, maybe, but for a writer (not painter) of your age I think that's really good! I especially like the detail and colour of it. There seems to be something going on in every corner to the page, and nothing is left white. It has a surrealish tone to it, which makes it look quite creative. It seems as if it's drawn not from a plain scene, but from your own perspective of that scene, which is what art is all about.

In not really an art critic, so I probably cant offer the best advice, but here it goes. The shading on the face looks quite odd. Some people have brownish skin, some have yellowish, some have pinkish, in different shades. On his face though it looks like his skin is both pinkish and very pale brownish. Maybe next time you should use water or black/white paint to darken or lighten the same colour rather than different colours.

The boat looks quite rough too, especially compared to the detail of the face. Things in the background tend to require less detail, but you should still keep the quality consistent. In writing, slightly varying qualities can go unnoticed, but in picture these differences stand out a lot.

Good work :) Keep it up!
We were born to be amazing.

So, first off I have to slap you. This is terrible. Never ever second guess how good you are at something! Art is about expressing yourself…artistically. This a really nice piece.

But really keep in mind what Tenyo said about keeping things as detailed throughout. The one thing, though, that does make this seem a bit off is that his head does seem a bit small and his neck a bit long, but oh well; you drew Jack as you saw Jack. Besides, I really like the detail in the face though, especially with the hair on his face. It’s really good.

Also, since I wasn’t sure how familiar you would be with the BBC coding that we use here on the site, I’d show you what you’d have to use if you wanted the image to show up in the post, rather than the link. When you first submit something on tinypic, right after it uploads, one of the boxes should say Direct Link for Layouts. You can use that one and the IMG codes or you can just click the IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards, which is exactly what you would need to copy and paste in. Like this. *points down*

Anyways, if you have any questions, feel free to PM me or leave a message on my wall. I'm always happy to answer questions or help out or whatever! :D

Never forget who you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.
