Hey all! So, I am horrible at art. But I do like to try! So when I saw Flower's contest ( topic72108.html ) I couldn't resist! I decided to do a heart, because my manga/Depp drawing skills are horrible. I used: ink, watercolor, sharpie, pen, and acrylic paint.
Star light; star bright, It is time to take flight. Off I go through the dark of night. All my hopes and dreams in sight.
This is pretty I really like the random scatter of colours and hearts in the background, and the blue surface behind it. It's a really nice design.
My one suggestion is to improve the shading on the heart. The background and design surrounding the heart looks very loose and effortless (can you tell I have no clue how to use art terminology?) but the heart itself is quite flat. The lines and shading are all the same, unlike the dashes and dots around which (because they've been done with paint I assume) consist of a lot of different shades. It would also work to purify the colour a bit so that you can't see the black smudges inside the heart.
Also, this is hand drawn, so I'm assuming you can't just re-open a program and delete a layer. However, there are come cool programs on the internet - splashup is the one that comes to mind for me - which you could use to add some shading or texture to the heart
Overall, this isn't as bad as you seem to think :p Be brave, experiment a bit more, and you'll be drawing like a pro in no time. You've got the creativity, so why waste it?
