I am new here. Used to write poetry when I was younger and I hope to rediscover the talent and develop my craft. I look forward to sharing my work and reading yours!

Welcome to YWS, DeRohan!

My name is Lumi and I have the pleasure of being one of your greeters! I'm sure that you'll love it here, and that you'll grow so much in your talent for writing that you'll soon look back at your earlier pieces and go, "Wow!" But...that's certainly all you'd say, of course, because there's no sense in being negative about anything you create! ;)

Since you're new in town, I'd like to take a minute--just sit right there--and I'll tell you how you can become the prince of Bel Aire next beloved family member of YWS! This is how we work:

So, YWS at its simplest core prides itself in two essential things: writing and reviewing.

Writing
Up on the main toolbar, you'll find an icon labeled Submit. When you click that icon, it'll take you to a menu on which you can post your works! Feel free to post your written works on the site to get critiques, advice, or general reviews from anyone around the site!

We ask that you rate your work accurately just to avoid any mess with inappropriate age content getting delivered to the wrong person (that sure would be weird). Each post takes 100 points to post.

Points are like a system of money on YWS--but don't be afraid; they cost nothing in real life. To get points, you need to write Reviews on works of other YWSers!

Reviews are what keep YWS running and growing. Whenever a user posts a written work, other users review it, critique it, and comment on it, telling the user what they liked, disliked, and how they can improve. It's just a fantastic way to grow one another in our writing.

Each review gives you 50 points, so if you do your math correctly, it takes two reviews to post one written piece of your own. It may seem daunting at first, but once you get reviews on your own writing, you'll understand the beauty of the system.

The writing forums on YWS are fantastic and diverse, and give you a realm for anything that you can devise. And, if you're a fan of collaborative writing, we have our Storybook forum (which takes forever to explain!). You can find all the information regarding Storybooks Here.

We also have Blog forums and Clubs that you can join, but you can discover those on your own with no problem! Of course, if you have any questions or get lost, feel free to PM me or any of the others around here, and we'll shoot you in the right direction! Or, you can just visit the Information Desk.

See you around!
