Chapter 6: Complications

I fell limp in Star’s arms, he struggled to hold my weight up as he was still recovering himself. He laid me back down on the bed gently. My eyes went back to normal and he moved closer to me. I smiled at him he just stared at me.
“Who was that Idda? Who is supposed to stay dead?” I stood up my head spinning. I grabbed the edge of the side table for support until the room stopped spinning.
“Like I said you will know soon enough. Don’t ask questions right now. He is part of my past, one I wish to forget.” Yet one I wish I could be with, without complications. I knew I still loved him after all these years but unless he came running into my bedroom right now, I’d rather he stay away. I glanced nervously at the door. Walking out of the room, leaving a worried looking Star, I shook away the thought of him showing up.
I found Angel and Jess downstairs in the basement playing on the gaming system. Angel paused the game and ran over to me, swinging her around in a circle. I picked up her controller and she showed me how to use it. I turned out to be a natural at the boxing but it was not what I was used to. I was so used to using guards and using different techniques. I let them play for a little while longer then called them up for dinner.
We ate in silence until Angel asked a question that made so much tension in the room it felt like I couldn’t breathe.
“Mommy when are we leaving?”
“Why would you say that dear?” I asked, trying to block my thoughts.
“Because you keep asking you self the same question over and over. You’ve been asking it ever since Robert died.”
“Honey do you really want to know the truth? She nodded and I sighed picking up my plate and rinsing it off.
“Tonight we leave and we have to use our gifts like never before. Do you understand? She nodded again eyes wide and listening to every little detail I was giving her.
“We have to leave tonight because they want to kill us. The army does. That is why Robert Lake died he was one of us. They called him an Invisible. We need to find out what they are. Star and Angel I need you to get into the systems and figure out what Invisibles are.” They needed to know what they really were. I knew already and didn’t want to explain it, so I let them go find out for themselves.
Jess sat before me his right eye wide while he left eye was too swollen for him to open. I was glad it would heal overnight.
“Why did you get in a fight?”
“They said that Invisibles should have never been created. They said that I should die for what I do. I took advantage of him being distracted and took a swing at one of them. I hit the guy square in the jaw. I was so surprised I didn’t see him hit me back.
“Before I knew it he was backing away from me in horror because he had scratched me and it instantly healed. The biggest one punched me in the eye and I got knocked out.” I nodded and took his plate up to the sink to be rinsed.
“Ok we need to grab clothes and food, then we will grab mine or Star’s car once they get here and go.” Turning on hyper mode we ran through the house packing clothes as small as we could into backpacks. Jess grabbed Star’s and his clothing while I packed Angel’s and mine.
I could hear Star slam the door shut then Jess call my name. Hurrying, I found them sitting in the living room with papers set out on the coffee table. Angel was asleep on the couch curled up with her arms wrapped around her legs snoring. I sat down in the chair across from Angel.
On one of the sheets was a picture of a man with golden blonde hair and golden eyes. On it was his name. I grabbed the paper and hid it in my bag before Star could see it. I could see millions of files stacked next to Star. I sighed afraid he would read mine.
Star was reading all the papers with absolute interest. He picked up a report about two Invisibles named Tessa and Roge. I held my breath as he began to read it.
“Did you know Tessa could mind read as well? Her and this guy Roge were spies for the government before they suddenly disappeared.
“They had a kid but he was killed. Roge tracked down the killers and killed them to make a point. This Roge guy has the coolest power, when he laughed he could put people into a trance. He could do a few amazing things. Tessa could also see in heat vision. This is so cool.”
“Yeah Star, I will be back.” I stood up and raced out the door.
I didn’t even bother to grab the car. I ran as fast as I could. I hadn’t gone this speed in so long. I tripped and went flying. I got up and continued to run. I ran into the training room where some of the soldiers were training.
They didn’t even hear me come in, mortals.
“Hi there boys.” I said leaning against the door frame. They all stopped and looked up. A few smiled, others sunk back. There were ten of them tops.
I smiled and walked in. There were cameras everywhere. I grinned this was going to be fun. I went over the closest one and touched his neck. I ran my nail across his neck and he gasped trying to breath.
As he bled out I snapped the next two’s necks. The other seven were all in fighting s positions.
“Now who do I drink from first?” All their eyes widened “Now, now boys don’t be scared. Don’t worry I’ve had years of practice. See I’m not fifteen I’m a lot older. You won’t feel a thing.”
Five minutes later I had the last one in a headlock. I had blown his kneecap and broken his wrist.
“Don’t move.” I whispered to him, he nodded. I stuck my middle finger up at one of the cameras. And leaned down and sunk my fangs into his neck. When I was finished, I looked up wiping my mouth. Now that was how you said good-bye my way. I hurried back to the house.

Chapter 7: Explanations

“They call us Invisibles because our race lived in the world for forty years before people found out about us. We live off the slightest in take of food and have amazing gifts. We have grace, beauty, power, speed all from ancient creatures we thought were only in books and movies.
“Do you realize that we are like lab rats to them. We are special though our gifts could be put to use but for years we have lived here just to be studied. He said
He paused and handed me files with our old names on them. I almost laughed, what I just did was not low key.
“They have kept file off everything from training until diets. They have studied us and trained us just so when we crack they will kill us.
I cringed thinking of Robert.
“They have killed over 400 of our kind just because when the witches, vampires and werewolves called a peace treaty after the huge war. The humans were furious but they created the Invisibles so that all their powers would be in one race. So that their specific gifts could be put together into one race in order to destroy the evil ones.
“There is a file on every Invisible that was created or born. Only 300 were created and those are the most powerful ones alive. Now about 50 live. Most are old but they keep an eye on the younger ones. There were 10 and that was including Robert and every one of us except Idda. Now there is 9.”
Jess looked up with wide eyes
“There are more of us?” Star nodded and continued on about what he was saying.
“There are 3 in Toronto, 2 in Montreal and 1 in P.E.I. All of our files are marked in red pen reading ‘Dangerous Miya and Roge’. I found out that they were the first created, we are all direct descendants from them and I don’t mean by family.”
I tensed up when he said Roge’s name.
“Invisibles who are born are the most powerful because they have been touched by Miya or Roge’s blood. These people are just like us and we have to find them, we know where they live and everything about them, it is all in these files. If we find them we will be able to do so much more.”
“I’m still confused why don’t they have a file on Idda?” Jess said.
I smiled faintly trying to hide my panic. Star just shrugged.
“Ok then we will find them. Star grab the car and Jess take the bags and go with him.” They left and I went around the house turning off the lights and packing food into a cooler. Jess came in and took the cooler out.
I picked up Angel and her eyes instantly opened in surprise, once she saw me she wrapped her legs around my waist and put her head on my shoulder. After a minute or so she was asleep cooing once more. We strapped Angel in because she still looked three and I went up to the front of the black SUV.
I looked over at Star and he grinned.
“What I could not take your car because it had a tracker this one does not I made sure. Your daughter even made a guard show us where it was. Have you realized how strong she is?” I nodded understanding then I plugged in a address and Star started off.
We had decided to go to my old house back in the woods for the night so we would be safer. When we got up to the guards one went to the front of the car and motioned for one of us to get out.
I stepped out and he tensed, I smiled and walked up to him and placed my hand on his shoulder.
“Hello Steve, how are you this evening?”
“Good.” He said trembling, I leaned close and I tapped into his mind. Sleep. His eye lips drooped and he fell sideways.
I pulled him over into his hut and hit the button for the gate to unlock. Jumping back into the car it was a long drive to the house. The January thaw was melting away all the snow turning the ground into a brown and green mess. The air was crisp and cold as I walked up to the structure that was once my house.
The wood siding had been kept in good condition and the grass ands gardens were perfect. I saw there lights on in the kitchen, we all walked up to the door and before I could knock the door was open and a women with grey streaked through her long auburn hair was hugging me.
Straightening up she mad a serious face and held out her hand, sticking her lips into a pout look and pulling down her eyebrows. Something seemed familiar about her but I just couldn’t put my finger on it.
She leaned close to my ear and whispered.
“Welcome home, my name is Abira. Do you remember me?” I nodded, she was the Invisible I had declared the housekeeper.
“Call me Idda”
“Ray.” I nodded and smiled.
One word to say to you
One world to live onto
One person that makes you spin
One song you'll always sing
Show me the way <3
