Will it be yet another person who slides in, posts one story, advertises his own site and then buggers off?
Lets hope not, I don't even have a site.

Anyhow, hello everyone! I'm another newbie in the endless sea of newbies, desperately thinking of something to say to make this post seem even slightly different to the others. :| Err, I'm happy to be here and I hope to get along with you all, I'll be sure to look around and read other people's masterpieces before I dare post my own into the fire of teenage scrutiny. Well, that's a nice excuse and all, truth be told I still haven't figured out how navigating the site works. 8)

In short, glad to be here, hope we get along, looking forward to reading a bunch of everyone's uploads and be gentle (as it's my first time).
Oh, and by the way, plz check out ma awesumme site http://www.google.com thaanks u guize x x x

NB: What's with the character count for my post? I mean, I know this is a literary forum, but jeez, it's like the entire site is saying "Pssh, so that's all you've got?" :)
My grammar's terrible. Dad says we should put her in a home.

Why, hello Arkay! Pink here :)
Welcome to YWS! Yes, I know, the site can be quite difficult to navigate, I remember when I was the newbie...ugh. >.<
Anyways, don't be afraid to post, we're all here to help and we're extra nice to the new members, haha :D
So, as flower said, you've left us with no information. What is your favorite book? What do you like to read/write? Color? Do you have any other hobbies?
Anyways, if you have any questions, you're free to drop me a pm and I'll be glad to help you out. Or you can contact the Mods, they're the users with green names. They know their way around the site.
Have fun!

The character count is most useful when you're doing reviews, since you need 200 characters for it to count! But it's also an incredibly usefully handily mocking device. Props for figuring it out so soon! :P

Heh, good point, I was so excited to finally get the chance to critique other folk's work that I forgot to put important info... Yeah, we'll go with that. 8)

Well, I like a wide variety of music, there's usually something in every genre that twangs my chords, with one exception being Death Core music, I like a thrashing guitar as much as the next guy but I draw the line when any words sung are just one long croaking noise. My current favourite bands and artists include The Beautiful South, Fatboy Slim, Eagles Of Death Metal, Led Zeppelin, Basement Jaxx, The BPA and very occasionally a Marilyn Manson track or two.

Films-wise, I don't often stray out of comedy or horror, except for the occasional film of a book. My favourites here include Me Myself & Irene, Monty Python and the Any Film They've Ever Done Ever and the Austin Powers films.
The second Grudge film scared me sleepless.

As for books, though I've read a fair amount I'd still say I was pretty new to this literature thing all the kids are talking about. My earliest childhood memory of being read to is a little odd, with my Mother reading to me good stories like the first Harry Potter book (with all the accents, obviously) and my Father reading to me from this huge, old red book called "Tales Of Old Bohemia." These days my favourite tales at the moment include 1984, Animal Farm, Heart Of Darkness, Frankenstein, Candide and Micromegas.

I used to play Squash until i recently swapped it for Golf, and before that I went Go-Karting every so often. I'm a slight fan of Formula 1 and I'll tell anyone who isn't an otaku that I'm an otaku.
...Damn, it's like writing a Personal Statement. That's pretty much all there is to me, how about yourself?
Hope we get along juuuuust fine. :)

Hey Arkay! What would you prefer to be called, actually?

Please, can I be a moderator on your site? It looks fantastic!

Ah, you like Orwell! That's great. I still haven't finished 1984, though I've heard that it's very good. And I'm sure it is, I just haven't had time! I'm always reading like three books at the same time, which is why it's a wonder when I finish something.

The only movies that are considered scary that I've seen are The Exorcist, Scream, and The Blair Witch Project. I hate scary movies, though. The first two I saw with a bunch of other people, so it wasn't that bad. Not that they were so scary anyway. They were just gross.

Anyway, welcome to YWS!

I am a newbie too, so I believe we're stuck in the same boat, sailor.
That's just about all I have to say. If ever you need help or a review, feel free to ask :P
So, I do believe a farewell is necessary.
