I'm not that keen on the title and I think the poem is a bit contradictory in places, but I thought I'd post it anyway.
Stop telling me I'm perfect
Stop telling me I'm pretty
Don't tell me it's all in my head;
That I'm just being silly,
Stop making it okay for her to be skinny
But making a big deal whenever I'm not hungry.
I know I had my problems
I wanted to be small
I starved myself
I forced the sick
I went through it all
Now I'm in a better place
I want to play it safe
I don't want to be skin and bones
I just want some strength
Don't worry if I exercise
But tease me when I'm fat,
It was you who raised me lazy
So I pushed to extremes in the past.
It's time for me to get healthy
But I'm going to need some help
Because I so want to be stronger
But I'm scared I'll hurt myself.
