As the chosen people
We stood strong,
Never making a bad move,
Our estimates never wrong.
We started like a new kid,
Constantly being picked on,
But our might broke free,
Like an animal, majestic yet brawn.
We were a tiger,
Looking for our next prey,
But we fought with honour,
Trying to not have to slay.
And then they came,
Soldiers sleek with steel,
Their hearts cold,
As if they couldn't feel.
They killed us while we celebrated,
All that mattered to them were coins,
Our lives worthless to them,
Our enemies come and join.
Then they tried to run like a coward,
Grabbing all they could,
We destroyed their army,
And in power we once again stood.
But they returned,
Bringing with them a curse,
It killed us too fast,
Not enough time to nurse.
We gave in that summer,
Their celebratory shots, Crack! Boom!
Breaking through the mourning silence,
Our city walls holding our bodies like a tomb.
We stood strong,
Never making a bad move,
Our estimates never wrong.
We started like a new kid,

Like an animal, majestic yet brawn.
