Prologue
Before the dark times, there was a lush green and bright time filled with light and life. It was the time of the Mystic Warriors. During that time there was peace and harmony. The Warriors had kept the peace by fighting the darkness.
Unfortunately the Darkness had joined an alliance with the evil monster Sabre. Together they defeated the Warriors and gained power.
However, a Warrior, called Zabian, had hidden his child with the Goblins who promised to protect the child. The child, if found, would have been killed, as the child had good magic in her blood.
All the Warriors were killed and Sabre ruled.
A sorceress, Arya, saw what had become of the land and was upset. She sought the Goblins for the child, whom she’d had risen in a peasant family. As the child became of age, she would teach her many powers to defeat the Darkness and the Dark King, Sabre.
The child was called Saphira and she was to learn the ways of magic when the time came…
#FF0000 ">Lookie at what I found! I was digging around my computer for a poem that I wanted to share, and I found this! I wrote this story when I was 11/12 years old. A young child who didn't really understand the word originality that well, lol. So, being the old sentimental 18 year old I am now, I want to see how far this piece could have gone. Of course, I think its not that great compared to some other brilliant stories out there, but hey I wrote it, so someone might like it.
Chapter 1
…16 years later…
The cold wind swept through the tall dark trees, wolves howled menacingly, as an owl hooted. A girl ran quickly past a tree, her long midnight black hair shone brightly in the moon light. Her gown glowed red. The moon overlooked the whole forest. She whipped through the trees not looking back. The girl was named Saphira, and was very beautiful. She was an orphan and grew up with her Step-aunt and step-uncle. She had no memory of her parents and why she was orphaned. Her guardians knew why Saphira was orphaned, and they cared for as if she was their own, refusing to tell her about her parents.
Crows took flight into the sky, leaving a shower of feathers and leaves in the path of the girl. A snarl echoed throughout the forest. Saphira quickened her pace. She suddenly screamed.
A terrifying creature had leapt from a tree branch landing right in front of her. Its’ sharp teeth glinted pearl white in the moon light. The eyes on its hairy face were amber and they were fixed on the girl. Its’ body was wolf shaped except that it stood on its’ hind legs like it were human.
“Hello Saphira,” snarled the wolf, “I’ve been waiting for you. Hmm. You are early, well let’s go.”
Saphira remained silent. Her eyes investigated the terrifying beast as it turned around. How did this beast know her name and how was it expecting her to arrive, even early?
“Well aren’t you going to appear, Draco?” growled the wolf, his eyes glancing around the wood.
“I am coming.” echoed a voice.
Saphira slowly stepped back while the wolf looked around. She was unsure what was going on. All that she knew was that a stranger dressed in rags had told her that she was in danger and had told her to go into the forest. She had run into the forest in an attempt to escape the mad stranger. Then this wolf appeared. A talking wolf! A mysterious Draco! What was going on?
“I see you are confused, Saphira. Come, we will help you.” the wolf smiled with a toothy grin. “We are not going to hurt you, Princess.”
“Princess? What do you mean? Where are ‘we’ going?” queried Saphira.
The ground shook as a mighty dragon landed. He had scales the colour of sapphires. His eyes were bright blue. On the four feet were very sharp talons, curling into the ground. Saphira screamed again.
The wolf snarled to Saphira. “Silence! Are you trying to wake the dead? And you,” turning to the dragon, “why did you have to scare the living daylights out of me, not to mention the girl?”
The dragon shrugged, “Sorry Will.” A cheeky flash glinted in the dragon’s eyes, “Oh, no… I got that wrong. I’m sorry Wolf Flesh.”
A giggle left Saphira’s lips. However a snarl came from the wolf.
“Do not mock me Draco. When we reach Elrond City, I will speak to Arya of your insults and I will never help you clean your scales to the point when they glitter.” snarled the wolf. Saphira stayed silent while the wolf and Draco insulted each other until she heard something about a moon which almost caused the wolf to attack Draco.
“Never say that word!” spat the wolf.
“Well it is setting!” Draco pointed out, “Look.”
The wolf looked up; a grin came to his face, “At last! It is almost time...”
Saphira curiously looked at the wolf. “What on earth do you mean?”
The wolf ignored her and went to Draco. “Privacy, Draco. A wolf likes his privacy.”
Draco then nodded his head and spread out his right wing forming it into a tent. The wolf grabbed a saddle bag from Draco’s back and pulled out some clothing. He then stepped under the out stretched wing out of view, just as the moon disappeared over the mountains. There was a yelp and a whimper, then a groan.
Saphira stood shocked. What was going on? Draco looked at the sky.
“Don’t worry; Will’s coming out in a second.” Draco said, looking straight at her face.
A man, fully dressed in a red tunic appeared from underneath the wing. He had soft brown eyes, short dark hair and a smooth face. His posture was slim although strong muscles were slightly visible through the tunic. She could see that this man was about her age but, some how this man was familiar in some way. As she pondered on the thought, the man walked up to Draco and whispered something she did not catch.
“Right, now that we are ready, we shall leave. Come along now dear, we must be moving fast now that Draco is here.” said the man. “Oh and by the way, my name is William, your guide to Elrond City and this over grown lizard is Draco. He shall take us there by air.”
Saphira looked at this man curiously. Who was he and where was that terrifying beast? Maybe he had slain the beast Wolf Flesh. No. The beast was friends with Draco and she was sure that Draco would not allow his friend to be slain. But who is this stranger called William.
“Excuse me, but who are you?” asked Saphira. Her knowledge of this man needed to be extended.
William turned and looked her in the eyes and asked, “Did I not tell you? Do you want me to repeat it, because I am not in a good mood,” his voice rising “and if you have not noticed, we are pressed for time, but if you want to be ignorant, have it your way, you …”
“WILLIAM!” roared Draco. At the sound William silenced himself. “I think that I should tell her, because I have noticed that she is unaware of your condition.”
“What condition?” Saphira interrupted.
“Um, my condition is no illness but a curse,” answered William. “I wish not to speak of it and do not continue wandering about Wolf Flesh. At the moment he is, um, gone. He may return again but he will always be watching you and he will never leave you unless of certain circumstances.” glancing at the sky he added, “We are going to be late and at the moment I do not have time to answer any questions. Now, Draco help Saphira mount you while I pack.”
Draco obliged and lowered his magnificent head making it clear to see a leather saddle strapped on the base of his neck before the wing joint. On the saddle were several saddle bags but it was the saddle that mainly caught Saphira’s eye.
The saddle made of leather was like a cloth spread over Draco’s back, however it had many straps and buckles which looked as if they strapped onto human legs. There were many scratches upon the leather as if a wolf sat astride Draco and had gripped the saddle with his claws. There was even an engraving of the moon with many scratches on it showing to Saphira that neither the wolf nor William liked the moon at all.
As Saphira prepared to mount she noticed an open saddle bag revealing many scrolls which Saphira knew were enchantments. Once in the saddle, Saphira gently ran her tips of her fingers on the soft leather. Then onto the scaly back of Draco. The scales were warm to the touch and were very smooth. A small rumble could be felt from the inside.
“Saphira,” Draco said softly, “Your fingers are as soft as silk and you heart is as warm as a log fire on a cold winter’s night.”
The sound of Draco’s voice washed over Saphira, “You are too kind Draco.” She gently whispered.
A clang of metal drew Saphira’s attention to William. A sword lay on the ground. In his hands was an elegant bow carved from what looked like the finest wood. An arrow was strung and was pointed into the woods. A twig snapped in the silence and a doe sprang forward. It had a bleeding front leg and a gashed face. It looked straight at William. Saphira held her breath, fearing that William was going shoot the poor animal.
To her surprise, William lowered his bow on the ground and softly walked to the animal, whispering gently to it.
Instead of fleeing from William, the doe remained where it was and was staring at William with ease. Its’ body showed no tension as William’s hand touched its’ flank. Whispering still, William ran his hand over the deer’s flank, across the body in stroking movements to its’ wounded leg.
“Dear Doe, wanderer of the forest, do not fear for I shall help as I am a friend not a foe.” He whispered gently. His hand gently touched the gaping wound and the doe flinched, but it did not run. It’s pleading eyes fell on Saphira, and Saphira some how could hear it speak to her. “Dear Princess, do stroke me with your soft hands so that I can forget the pain while the friendly wolf heals me.”
The words were said silently and only Saphira could hear them. She quietly dismounted and walked towards the creature and started stroking it. William looked up and stared into Saphira’s eyes for half a second. Saphira felt a strange power awake inside her mind and she wished that the doe could be healed.
A small sudden blue light glowed on the doe’s wounds. Saphira stood in amazement while William smiled and an extra red light joined the light. Then, as the lights faded, Saphira gasped. The wounds were gone without leaving a scar.
“Thank you mystic warriors” the doe nodded, happily.
Saphira was silent and she heard a new voice echo in her mind.
“Be careful little doe and your welcome to call us warriors of the old. This is Saphira. Gently nudge her so that she can feel affection and thanks from you. Be careful though, she is Zabian’s daughter.”
The doe did not nudge Saphira, but said, “Saphira, you are Zabian’s daughter as you well have heard from this careless wolf. You are a warrior of old as well as William. You both need training from Arya first though. Arya though is not going to pleased when you arrive late so get that wolf moving!” and she pranced away.
“Okay.” Responded Saphira “lets’ go. I must speak with Arya.”
William started, in surprise, “What! How do you know of Arya? The great sorceress? How? Speak!” William folded his arms and stared intently.
Saphira answered using her mind, “I can speak with my mind too you know. The doe just told me how careless you’ve been. You are the wolf too. Aren’t you! A werewolf! A bad omen! I would send you away if it was not for the doe! You are like me. An outcast! And here you are speaking with power when you are like me!”
William stood in mad shock. He looked angry and then sad. Saphira quickly regretted what she had said, somehow.
Draco sat there as if he enjoyed watching someone take William down a peg or two. Saphira hated it.
“I’m sorry. I was just angry and also very confused.” Saphira said aloud, “please forgive me, William.” William turned and walked towards Draco “its’ okay, I forgive you. Now let’s go. Come on Draco!” and he mounted Draco in a small leap.
Saphira followed and mounted.
“Now let’s fly.” said Draco, and they took off.
#FF0000 ">Wow, Its amazing how inventive a young child's imagination is. Maybe i should go to a nursery or primary school and get some inspiration there! lol
Chapter 2
They flew over fields and hills. Villages were tiny. The wind was cold as it bit the riders. They rode in silence and the only sound heard was the beating of Draco’s wings. Stars twinkled above and the sky was still dark.
Meanwhile, in the dark castle in the Dark city, Sabre, a tall and large beast with red slit eyes, sat on his throne and a great smile left his thin white lips as his Gurgles - small ragged servants, with twisted bodies like trolls - brought in the seeing globe. The seeing globe was a clear glass orb which had belonged to the Warriors and Sabre had taken it in his spoils. As the Gurgles set the globe down they scurried away into the shadows. Sabre stepped down from his throne and glided towards the globe. The globe was shining blue with a faint image of a girl and boy riding a dragon.
Sabre stared at the globe and said, “Show me any Warriors who have escaped my wrath!” The image did not change and the picture became clearer of the boy and dragon. The girl however faded slightly and then glowed brightly.
“What is this madness!” he snarled his red eyes looked into the shadows and a small group of Gurgles appeared from the shadows, bowing their heads to their King.
“Well, speak!” Sabre snapped.
A bold Gurgle called Grish, stepped forward. He cowered as he spoke, “my l l lord d. s s sor r ry t to k keep yo you wait t…”
“STOP STUTTERING AND STUMBLING YOUR WORDS!!!” roared Sabre, his patience waning.
Grish stumbled back in fright into the gang of Gurgles. He stopped speaking and another Gurgle prepared himself to speak when another voice spoke.
“Gurgles are quite useless when they have some bad news.”
The voice was powerful and female.
“Who are you?” Called Sabre in anger.
A creature like a black cat stepped out from the under the shadows. She was rather slim and very attractive. Her body was like one of those fairies; perfect in all ways. She had amber eyes and, astonishing enough, a black tail, which swished now and again.
“I am Black Cat. I‘ve been watching you. You have been lording about for the last 16 years and now you have seen a threat.” Cackled the stranger. She had long dark hair and at the top, the hair was, somehow, moulded into cat-shaped ears.
Sabre studied this stranger without ease. No trust was to be offered to this cat stranger.
“I know of this threat. Not only have I watched you in your castle,” she paused “I have also heard things from the trolls. ‘A young wolf seeks a peasant girl to rid of the evil King’.”
Sabre was shocked at this news. “What do you suggest I do? Stop them with magic!”
The Gurgles all nodded in agreement. Black Cat hissed at them and the Gurgles all went quiet and still.
“We stop them and we either kill them or…we give them the option to join us.” Black Cat Half whispered to Sabre. She glided to Sabre with a strange eye for him.
“What! When was there an ‘us’? I don’t even remember me saying that we should team up!” Snarled Sabre, his eyes began to pop out of their sockets.
Black Cat purred and stepped even closer towards Sabre, her eyes flashed at Sabre. “Ooo. Come now, I gave you valuable information and now you wish to dismiss me? Not very, nice are you?”
Sabre’s angry grew as he watched this sly fox. “You know many things so I thank you for the information. You however are going to help me leastways or I shall die of your annoying cooing!”
Black Cat smiled and swept away without a word. She was pleased with her work and wanted to be congratulated; however no one had seemed cared of her slyness.
She skulked in the corners of the great throne room thinking of a plan to capture these foes of Sabre. Then her eyes glistened. She knew where the foes were headed, so all she has to do is to intercept them on their journey. The girl and boy would be easy although that dragon looked like a handful. She was going to need backup; maybe those Gurgles might be useful after all. She prepared to leave.
Sabre in the mean time continued to stare at the seeing globe. His eyes kept straying to the girl. She, somehow, looked familiar. He pondered on this thought until he wished to see this girl brought to him alive!
“Servants!” He called, Grish and a dozen Gurgles rushed up, “Bring to me in this heist the girl who follows the dragon and boy. I want her ALIVE!!”
The Gurgles nodded briefly and they set out with the Black Cat.
The sky was dawning around the castle and black crows called in the distance, as a black cloud formed.

Chapter 3
Saphira sat quietly upon Draco with William behind her. She was curious about Arya, and William and Draco would not speak during the ride so far.
The land looked so peaceful but then it felt scared, like some evil was going to commence. Saphira knew why the place was timid and scared; it was because of the evil king called Sabre. Legend had it that Sabre had killed the peacekeepers and claimed the land as his own. He was said to be a monstrous creature that had red slit eyes which could send fear into someone’s heart. Her Aunt and Uncle had told her this. They had said that the peacekeepers were all destroyed, but they shall return again. Hopefully, very soon. Now it looked too soon, as she herself, may become a warrior. She could die!
Saphira shook these terrifying fears away and concentrated on the sky. The sun was slowly peeking through the horizon. It’s rays glinting on Draco’s scales. The clouds were clearing but something caught Saphira’s eye.
A dark cloud was headed their way and it was increasing its speed.
“Draco! Look at that strange cloud headed our way!” she cried.
Draco slowed and studied the black blob in the sky. William too, leaned forward to get a better look. The cloud began to descend to the ground, and Draco was prepared to continue his present course when all of a sudden they were surrounded in the cloud. Draco yelped in surprise and started to turn about when a face, formed in the cloud, spoke.
“You are trapped! Give yourselves up!”
William’s face drained of colour, as Draco tried to lower himself to the ground, defeated. Saphira on the other hand was angry about this interception. She started to cry out when a clumsy hand caught her around the face. She turned to shout at William to see him with his sword drawn held in both hands. He was pointing his sword at the cloud, his face showed pure anger.
“Saphira!” he called using his mind,”Beware the cloud. It will attack you again, so watch out!”
Saphira swept her eyes around the cloud. It was alive, possibly full of evil and it was prepared to take them down in any way available!
A thump was heard from behind and Saphira whipped round to see William unconscious and strewn across Draco’s back. Fear and anger swelled in Saphira’s mind and the strange power was awoken again. Saphira stretched her arms out and faced her palms of her hands towards the face.
Just as she knew it would happen; the bright blue light flowed from her hands hitting the cloud.
The face sneered, “You can‘t stop me!”
Saphira felt another burst of power awaken and the light became stronger and flame like. Beads of sweat formed on Saphira’s forehead.
Then a strong whack hit Saphira on the back and the flame faltered. She turned to see a moulded hand reach out of the cloud trying to stop her! Rage filled Saphira and the light began to improve and cause damage. Saphira’s arms began to ache with the extreme force of the power. The face then looked cat like and many other ugly curious faces could be seen behind the cat. The face began to shrivel and smoothen away.
“NO!” Screamed the face as the cloud faded away and descended towards the ground.
“Stybb!” a voice echoed.
“Draco!” shouted Saphira, Draco, however, continued to fly downwards, “Draco stop! It’s gone now!”
Draco continued to ignore her and began to slow down in speed. William still lay sprawled over Draco, she turned to him.
“William! Wake up!” pleaded Saphira as the land came closer, “William!”
William stirred and Saphira stroked him on the forehead. She looked deeply into his eyes seeing hurt and sadness.
“William! Are you okay? I do hope so because Draco is ignoring me!” Saphira gasped. Her senses realised how close to the ground they were. A dragon was usually slaughtered when a peasant saw one.
“I’m okay, buts what’s that about Draco ignoring you?” asked William gruffly.
“The cloud!”
“What about it?” asked William, “Um, where is it?”
“I destroyed it I think. But what about Draco?” Saphira said desperately.
William tried communicating with Draco with no avail. He studied many parts on Draco until he looked at Saphira with his soft brown eyes.
“I do not know what’s wrong with Draco because,” he hesitated “he’s not injured. He only acts this way when he is injured, unless…” he trailed off.
Saphira waited on him to speak because William looked sad and slightly scared. Saphira tensed up and looked to the ground which was now about 3 or 4 yards away. What was wrong with Draco? Tears slowly fought their way through and Saphira was now scared. The last time she was this frightened was when she was a baby and things were burning. Saphira was amazed that she could remember that when she was a baby. The tears streamed down her face. A cough caught Saphira’s attention again. She hastily wiped away the tears and faced William.
“Yes?” she croaked. Draco was now 8 feet away from the ground. William looked at Saphira’s tear stained face.
“Here.” He said brandishing a sword. “You’ll need it. I think Draco’s possessed”
“What?” Saphira screeched. She was now terrified. Draco was possessed? How? By who? She wondered, her heart racing
“Sshh, be quiet and prepared. Use your thoughts to speak to me from now on.” Whispered William, “Just be prepared for battle!”
Draco landed.
There was no sound. Nothing. Utter silence. It was quiet, too quiet! No birds singing. No sound.
“William!” Saphira said with her thoughts, “Something’s here because there are no birds!”
William looked round and nodded in agreement. There were no birds, or any wildlife in that matter. He gripped his sword tightly his mind concentrating around him.
Saphira prepared her awoken power and gripped her sword with most of her strength.
Draco shook his mighty head and said, “Where am I?”
Then a group of ugly looking creatures appeared from the bushes to the right and left of Draco. Saphira prepared herself for battle. Then a voice spoke.
“Well, well. Look at what we’ve caught in our net.”
A cat like lady sprang lightly from a tree branch above and landed softly in front of Draco. She had dark jet black hair and an attractive appearance.
“A Dragon and two peasants. My, my… what an odd sight.” She purred. She had amber eyes and cat ears. She looked kind, but Saphira felt that this was a fox.
“And what do you want?” asked Saphira. She knew this face. It was the face in the cloud! She was dangerous. She warned William with her thoughts.
“Me! I want you!” answered the cat. “I want to know you three.” She stared meekly at the trio.
William was staring with cold eyes at the cat, “Well we don’t want to know you. So if you don’t mind, we’ll be on our way.”
“NO!” said a commanding voice.
Saphira and William looked in surprise. The strange creatures were staring at 12 armoured creatures. Their armour was gold and red; the usual for the king’s servants. One of them had spoken. The cat looked furiously at the creatures. Her eyes flashed angrily.
“Under orders we are not to let you leave.” Said a bold looking creature.
The cat murderously stared at the creature, “You stupid Gurgle! Grish is it? I should wring your neck!”
The Gurgles all cowered away from the cat except for Grish. He stood there, his eyes fixed on Saphira. He did not want to be punished for the loss of the captives, let alone the girl that the king wanted. Saphira felt sick as the ugly deformed creature latched his gruesome beady eyes on her.
“I have orders.” He said abruptly. His eyes not straying to the cat as he spoke.
“Fine!” The cat turned back to the startled trio and meekly said, “Ignore him.”
Saphira stared at the cat her hand gripped the hidden sword tighter and squeezed Draco gently with her legs. Draco stepped forward as Saphira told William her plan to flee from their predicament. Draco was to cause confusion by moving and as the Gurgles rush back, Draco is to take flight.
As she predicted the Gurgles all moved back in confusion except for Grish and the cat that stayed perfectly still in all the commotion.
Then just as Draco spread out his wings, the cat made a huge leap onto the back of Draco. In anger and annoyance Draco snapped his jaws together and turned hi head to the cat who was engaged in a sword fight with William. The cat held a jewelled sword which had no stains.
In the fight, the cat deliberately shoved Saphira off of Draco’s back. As she fell Draco stretched out his head to catch her when two things happened: one group of Gurgles shoved their pointed spears at Draco’s head restraining him from catching Saphira and another group commanded by Grish caught Saphira gently and quickly restrained her from defending herself. Her sword was thrown to the ground and all the Gurgles set off, with Saphira mounted upon a black horse hidden in the bushes. Then she lost consciousness.
#FF0000 ">Okay, is it normal for a 12 year old to write this much? I'm seriously worried for my health! lol
Chapter 4
During the fight, when the cat had thrown Saphira from Draco’s back, William, in rage, had thrust himself into defeating the cat. The cat turned in half a second to her Gurgles and gasped, “The Gurgles!”
William stared, dumbstruck. The gurgles were gone along with Saphira. Draco shook his head and collapsed, as he was wounded with many spears.
The cat ignored William and stared at the empty land. A sword lay on the ground. She hissed in fury as her eagle eyes looked for her Gurgles.
William was now angry about Saphira’s disappearance and turned on the cat who was cursing the Gurgles.
“Where is she?” he demanded.
The cat turned her head to William and spat, “I have no right to tell you.” She then stared into the clearing, “Blasted Gurgles! No respect for me. No!” she cursed, “they just took me for granted. If their master knew of their ignorance he would surely respect me.”
She continued grumbling and cursing until she was out of breath. She then remembered William and her eyes were drawn to the collapsed dragon where William was tending to the wounds that the Gurgles had effectively done in their escape.
“Right, you had better fix up your dragon and I then need to complete that battle we had.” The cat exclaimed.
William stopped his work and stared at the cat. Why was this cat willing to help him? And about the fight, why did she need to finish it?
The cat approached Draco and began to stroke him. There was a change in her eyes. She had become gentle and kind with soft eyes.
“I can’t believe that I am stroking a dragon.” She whispered. “I’ve always wanted to.”
William glanced up again “Why did you attack him when you admire him?”
The cat stopped and looked away. “I was told to stop you by someone.” She looked at William, “the thing is I love him.” She paused, “Do you think I have a chance being this way? For him to like me I have to behave like him.”
William worked and watched in amazement as the cat spoke about herself. The cat had called herself Black Cat and she was deeply in love with someone, who she would not name. She was cursed and wished to be human again.
William finished tending to Draco. He stood up and drew his sword. He now knew that he had to defeat this cat to find Saphira.
“I’m ready Cat!” he said, his eyes watched the cat stand tall and brandish her weapon. It was shimmering in the rising sun and it seemed that it was floating in the golden light.
The cat nodded her head and prepared for the fight. They circled each other waiting for the first move. William moved first, his sword slashing at the cat. The cat wheeled round missing the blow. She smiled meekly, her sharp teeth glinting. Then she mastered a blow so powerful, that William found it hard to stop her blow.
The sword slashing continued, for what seemed like hours, for 10 minutes until William had his sword pointed to the cat’s throat. The cat dropped her sword and stepped back as William lowered his sword.
“You are skilled with the sword, but how strong are you really without weapons?” asked the, not defeated yet, cat.
William turned and rammed his sword into the ground and faced the cat, his hands ready. He knew little about the combat without arms and only knew the basics. So he prepared to attack the werewolf way which was very effective against foes. He snarled and crouched.
The cat prepared herself for a cat fight. She hissed and arched her back.
Then they both sprang into each other. Snarls and hisses came from the pair as they locked on to each other. They held on to each other for ages until the cat leapt back with a strong jerk. William followed angrily and his eyes watched the cat carefully.
The cat straightened up and smiled. She stood there with William waiting his defences lowering.
Then she pounced and savagely brought William quickly down to her mercy.
Draco had woken at that time and had roared in protest. He snapped his jaws and rose steadily to his feet.
The cat slunk back and released her grip around William's throat.
“Tell your dragon to back off!” she spat angrily, “I won fairly as I had you at my mercy!” she hissed.
William gestured Draco to stop.
Draco stopped raring and spoke menacingly, “Cat! You are sly. Now you have won, would you release Saphira? The girl your Gurgles have taken?”
Black Cat froze. The dragon spoke! Amazing! She thought quickly for an answer, “I do not know.”
William gasped. So the Gurgles had kidnapped Saphira without the cat’s consent! He spoke with his thoughts to Draco while the cat turned away, “Draco! Those Gurgles! They took Saphira!”
Draco snorted in anger and bared his teeth to the scared cat.
“That Grish, he took her didn’t he!” said William to the now trembling cat.
But the cat was not scared at all. She was in fact shaking with laughter! She concealed it as fear to the two pathetic prisoners. She had tricked the boy into thinking how weak she was, so that she could regain her strength. Without warning she threw her sword at Draco and stunned William with a blow to the back of the head. Draco fell heavily, the sword in his side. As William fell to the ground, the cat smiled. Now she had captured the dragon and the boy. She would be rewarded greatly.
She tied William's hands and legs, and chained the dragon, with all the equipment hidden in a nearby bush. She gently pulled the sword out of the dragon and wiped it clean.
Once done, she went to fetch her horses, which were to drag the dragon to Sabre, and to find them gone. She screeched in anger and turned to the clearing where the Gurgles had made their escape. She checked the trail. There were many footprints of the Gurgles and the horses. The Gurgles were going to be rewarded. She wanted to be rewarded by Sabre.
She then thought of a plan to bring both the dragon and boy to the hands of the king when she would surely be praised.
She released the cords on William and unchained the dragon. She drew a map on the ground for the boy so that then he could go to
She then set off to Dark city empty handed with her plan already in motion.
Chapter 5
The Gurgles marched on wards to the dark castle. Saphira remained unconscious for a while. The Gurgles grunted in triumph and pleasure.
They all were glad to be rid of that annoying Black Cat. The cat had been bossing them around as if she was the master. They all had hated the cat. In fact, it was Grish’s idea to abandon the cat in her fight with the boy.
Grish was rather amused with himself as he rode next to the horse carrying his captive. The capture was simple, as the girl had given up in shock. So all they did was hoisting her onto the horse and riding off, with the other Gurgles following either on horseback or on foot. Strangely, the girl had passed out so Grish had one gurgle to lead the girl’s mount.
They had taken all the horses that the cat had brought to drag the dragon to the dark castle.
The sun was setting across the horizon, as the band of Gurgles passed a lonely village.
A jolt woke Saphira up. Her tattered dress hung limp from her body. Her silky hair was now matted and she dreaded combing it again, if she could after this ordeal.
She was mounted upon a black horse and a short, toothless gurgle jogged in front leading the horse. He grinned sheepishly at her, noticing that she had aroused. Her eyes were moving slowly when a rough voice next to her shouted out, “Get in line you scum! Get in!”
A gurgle was riding alongside her. He looked faintly familiar and his armour reminded her of that annoying gurgle, Grish. Then the gurgle turned his ugly face to her and Saphira nearly screeched. He was grinning at her; his sharp yellow teeth were hard to stomach, and his face up close was disorientated and murky grey. Her jaw had slightly dropped but to the satisfaction of Grish she stayed silent still.
Tears started once again to spring into Saphira’s hazel eyes. Fear had engulfed her again and her heart started pounding loudly.
She tried to act normal and put on a slightly brave face, as Grish stopped the march for a break, so that the tired Gurgles could rest their feet. Grish had the Gurgles first to encircle Saphira while she was on her mount.
“Right,” Grish said commandingly, “You are to dismount and stay still while these Gurgles–" he indicated to the larger Gurgles armed with whips and ropes “ have you tightly secured so that then you can’t run off.” He smiled and pointed to Saphira to dismount.
Guided with fear, Saphira dismounted and allowed the alarmingly large Gurgles to have her tied. The largest gurgle roughly seized her and held her in place. The gurgle spectators all laughed as Saphira shrieked in fear.
She had her wrists tied together, and was thrown in a heap next to a tree.
All the Gurgles sniggered at Saphira as she sat in the tree hollow. Two Gurgles sat and stared at her with their greedy eyes until a shout came from the camp. A fight was going on between two of the captors. Squeals and roars came from the tumbling pair. As the two guards turned and sat watching the Gurgles wrestle. Saphira stole the chance to escape. The only way was up. A low branch from the tree looked fairly inviting. Even with her wrists bound, Saphira found it remarkable that she was able to climb the tree. When she was a satisfying height where the Gurgles could not see her, Saphira relaxed and tried to use her magic to undo her binds.
The magic was reasonably easy to reach so Saphira was able to move her hands freely again.
After half an hour, Saphira heard the angered and frustrated shouts from the Gurgle guards. Looking down she saw the leader staring at the tree and the other Gurgles running about scared and confusedly, looking for her. She smiled at having successfully scared her Gurgle captors. There was no way that she could stay hidden as to allow the Gurgles leave so that she could escape, as the leader probably knew where she was. Then he shouted at the tree. At is voice the other Gurgles calmed down.
“Get down! Get down girl!” he shouted “We are not playing games! Get DOWN!”
So, reluctantly and defeated, she lightly sprang down and landed in front of him. He quickly jumped back.
“Thank you!” he snarled “You had better stay put if you know what’s good for you.”
Then, grinning, Gurgle swiftly grabbed Saphira’s long black hair and yanked her towards him. She cried out in pain and the Gurgles quickly tied her wrists again.
As she stood helplessly, unable to move as a large Gurgle had hold of her, the leader ordered two Gurgles to bring the girl’s mount and to keep a close eye on her for caution.
Smug tittering from the remaining Gurgles was ignored as Saphira felt herself being thrown onto a horse. After five minutes they were on their way again.
Grish made sure to keep an annoying eye on the girl captive. Grish had felt slightly agitated when the Gurgles had started shouting about the disappearance of the prisoner. Luckily though, he was capable to see the girl had now where to o without being spotted, but to climb the tree. Perhaps she had expected them to leave looking for her so that then she could escape. But no! Grish, knew what she up to.
However, he was very nervous of the girl, as she had landed untied. The other Gurgles too, had noticed and many had kept silent, warily watching the girl. Also some of them growled angrily at him making it out that it was Grish’s fault that the girl was in some way powerful.
Then he remembered the seeing globe: it had started flashing on the girl possibly showing she was a threat or not a large one. He did not know.
He cast another suspicious glance to the girl. She was sitting quietly with a sad expression on her face.
As he stared curiously, she turned and looked at him. Fear swelled up in Grish as he had seen something in the girl’s eyes. There was anger, fear and something else. It had scared Grish into looking away he was in fact scared of the girl. Regretting leaving the cat, the army trudged on.
#FF0000 ">Okay, that's all the typed up stuff. I know there's more, as I'm sat reading the paper versions that I've found. I am so shocked that I wrote this much! When you're young it feels like nothing! Maybe I should consider edting this thoroughly, type and edit the drafts, finish the story, and then maybe publish. lol. I know it goes up to chapter 9...Gotta find all the drafts first though...
Well, anyway - what do you all think? I know it was pretty long...even I'm tired. So read, and if you still have any energy left, please comment. Don't forget, this is a poor piece of writing I found at the back of my computer....
Thankyou
