I am believed to terrify each and every land,
I have in my hand a deadly magic wand,
With its flick, a curse and a quick wave of hand
I can transport you to a dry land of sand.
You picturize me as a dirty hag with a black cat,
A gown, a tangle and an old-fashioned hat.
You say I can easily turn you into a tiny rat.
Sometimes even, wonder if I transform into a bat!
You live in a strange world, completely sci-fi,
Yet you think if you see me, you’ll surely die.
Do you really think with a broomstick I can fly?
I’m helpless and for once believe me-I’d never lie.
To me people are rude; they never say ‘Hi!’
Though I’m sure, they’d be happy to bid me Goodbye.
When they see me, they cry out loud ‘My O My!’
Everyone dislikes me, but I don’t know why.
You think I know only a single word -‘Hate’.
If you talk to me, you think you’ll never know your fate.
You firmly believe that you will be eternally late,
If you once listen to me when I say, “Please wait.”
Don’t scare the children by telling them that I’ve an enormous pot!
In which I always keep boiling all creatures really hot!
They fear me greatly and dread of being caught.
It’s your fault I never wanted to frighten any tiny tot.
Anger, curses, magic words aren’t the only things I say,
I have a life and want to live it all well and gay.
Give me a chance a minute, an hour or maybe even a day
Please don’t shatter my dreams by saying, “Nay!”
I am kind, I can bless and love and can make everything right.
I like the day with the birds, flowers and sunshine not only the night.
With my wand I can bring in light -heart warming and bright!
I ain’t no devil, not bound by evil I can bet it with all my might.
