The sun was setting behind the Ditau hill. Its rays were forcefully peeping out in order to see the phenomenal landscape of the village. It then became very dark really quickly. The moon was not out. Just a few days back it was huge and yellow. Locals often say that if it is like that it portends many deaths.

Katlego lit a candle to look for the paraffin lamp in the cupboard. It was very hot and the candle and lamp were going to make it worse. She just wished they would turn everything off and go to bed, except she had a strange yearning to be with to be with her mother and talk to her. Maybe discuss the possibilities of moving to town with her. She was afraid of how Moses was going to treat her after her mother went back to town. Katlego reached deep into the cupboard, she could barely see anything. When she was with Moses, they never used the lantern because she would go to sleep early as Moses would have moved to the bar on the outskirts of the village.

After lighting the lantern she escaped to her mother’s room to find her. She entered and noticed the room smelt better. Moses’ aroma had been overpowered by her mother’s perfume. She looked around but her mother was not in, nor was Moses. She turned back but accidentally knocked her mother’s purse off the bed. A heavy pack off letters went flying for the floor. She panicked. Her mother would kill her if she found her holding her purse. She told her never to touch it as it was an older person’s property. Katlego jammed everything into the bag but she fell upon her name on one of the letters as she resisted passing a look at one of them. She then noticed that all of the letters had her name on them. She could still read and write from her seven years of primary school. She felt an excitement rush through her. She was not sure weather to open it or let it be. She hesitated. After a quick thirty seconds of silent analysis she decided to pocket one of the letters, after all it had her name on it. She heard voices and quickly made a run for the door. She sat in the kitchen as if nothing had happened. Katlego could not wait for the next day to open her letter. If only it was day, she kept thinking to herself.

Moses entered the kitchen and demanded food. Katlego gladly obeyed. Her letter had put her in such high spirits she almost forgot of what was going on in her life, or that every time Moses sent her for something she usually cursed him after he left.

This is really really good, I just went through everything you have written for your novel so far. I hope you keep going with it! I don't actually have anything negative to say...so yeah, hope to hear more.
