Hi I'm Anne,
I just discovered this website a couple days ago and I think I'm going to like it here. I love reading other people's work and I absolutely love writing. From what I can see, everyone seem to be really nice and I really appreciate the fact that we can give each other critiques and help each other out. It's really great! I'm so excited to start reviewing and start posting.

Anyway, that's it for now.

Bye :D

Welcome :D I'm rather new, too (I just signed up on Friday) but I've found that this site is definitely one of the better ones as far as writing sites go, at least if you're looking for critique. People are friendly but don't tend to hold back in concrit. Have fun!

Hey there, Anne!

I'm Mizzle and I'd like to welcome you to YWS! I love your enthusiasm for posting & reviewing - it's brilliant, really! Reviewing is fun, as I'm sure you've already discovered. Also, the more reviews you give, the more likely people are to review your work! Speaking of reviews, we follow a 2:1 ratio that was put back in effect yesterday! This means that for every work you post, you should try to do two reviews. ;)

Well, if you ever need anything, feel free to PM me! I'm always happy to answer any questions you might have.

See you around!

Hi Anne! Welcome to YWS. *fireworks* I'm sure that you'll enjoy it here. :D

It's a good sign that you're enthusiastic about being a part of the site; I don't see many new members who are so excited for everything, including reviews. Just awesome. :P

A few things that you should know about:

Questions and Answers: This is a forum made for--you guessed it--questions and answers. If you are lost about anything, from how to review properly, to what certain things such as badges, points, etc, are used for, then feel free to ask here. :D Short of doing that, do not hesitate to PM (private message) a moderator. You know someone is a mod when they're username is in green. Global moderators are in dark green, and help keep the entire site running smoothly. Junior moderators are the ones in light green, and they only "rule" certain parts of the site (though they are just as helpful).

The Information Desk: This forum contain individual threads created mostly by Nate, the administrator of YWS (he owns the site and is the one to change any aspects of its layout, new additions, etc). It's always a good thing to check back here every so often to see what he's talking about; it's always something to do with changes that we need to know about involving YWS. Everyone will love you if you are well-versed in these topics. Just check the dates of the original post before commenting, because you never know how old one may be, and that may have changed already! :D

The Lounge!: A catch-all area of relaxed discussion for all of the members. A cool place indeed. :P

Knowledge Base: This is one of my favorite areas of the site. This area contains a great deal of articles written by other YWSers on how to improve your writing, be it fiction, non-fiction, or poetry. If you have trouble with a certain aspect of grammar/punctuation, we have a forum for that. If you aren't feeling too swell on how your story is turning out and would like some basic or advanced advice, we have a forum for that. :D If you look around here, you'll definitely find it worth your while.

And that's really it for now. I have a feeling that you would have been great without any of these tips, but now you'll be even better. :D Please don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions. I'm happy to help.
