How many guitarist in the house?

Well, it's kind of obvious that I play guitar...I mean, CarsandGuitars77 and then, my avator, lol. But does anyone else play? I started playing electric last year and I really want to be in band...
Anyways...anyone else?

I've been meaning to take it up for aaaaages now. But I'm so lazy. I might just get an acoustic guitar and teach myself one day...

I would have earlier, but I already play the saxophone...and my dad says I can't start a new instrument until I practice more.

I used to play acoustic guitar, but I haven't picked up one for a while now and I doubt I could still play it. I know Randy does (he's a member, but not around much) though.

Well, anyway. I PLAY! Electric! I'm pretty good, I can play a bunch of songs. I also have an acoustic lying around there somewhere...I only play acoustic sometimes though, its pretty fun.

I've played electric for a little over 2 years and acoustic for a little over a year...but I am completely in love with my acoustic and hardly ever play electric anymore.

I've been playing accoustic and electric for almost four years now. It's sooooo fun! I don't take lesons, I teach myselff. I play by ear, which I think is more fun than reading notes. ey...where are EBM and Crysi?

Here I am, Tara! I've been playing acoustic off and on for a few years.. I'm not very good yet, but I can piece together a lot of songs. My dad played both acoustic and electric.. He rarely picks up the acoustic now, and never touches electric. He lets me play his acoustic now.. it's a pretty nice guitar.

I LOVE playing. B-4 I described the feeling I get from playing guitar to Crysi as 'I feel like I'm floating in a warm pool in the middle of an intimately green, thick forest beneath a billion tiny, twinkling stars.

Playing guitar isn't really easy when you're starting out--I mean, I can't tell
you how much I've gotten frustrated and wanted to give up.
However, if you really want to start, you should start with the open chords, A,
B, C, D, E, F, G. A lot of songs are played with these notes. For instance, if
you wanted to play Boulevard of Broken Dreams, the notes for the chorus are
just,
Em, G, Dsus2, Asus2 over and over. I know that if you have never heard that
before, you're probably totally convinced now to give up. But I provided some
pictures below for just those four chords if you wanna play that song. It's a
lot easier than it sounds:

Please not that this is the acoustic version, which can also be played on lead
electric for beginners. However, if you want the lead, the part Billie Joe
actually plays, you need to learn how to read tabs, but this which I have
provided is just enough for you to say, "I can play Boulevard of Broken
Dreams!"

I saw a film clip of Gun's 'n Roses a few years ago, and thought Slash was just the choice lead guitarist, so i wanted to learn. ended up i got bored, but did learn a few songs from mxtabs. it's not hard, really, but not everyones lifestyle suits it.

Here's a tip: it's good to leanr to read music, but if you can learn to play by ear as well, it makes things so much easier

Definitely! When I was first learning to play, I was playing along with one of my cds using guitar tabs.. On this one song, I noticed that the chord was a bit off, so I moved one finger and it was perfect! I went by ear from then on.
